They have got to be doing this on purpose. And I don't understand how anyone can sit there and watch dailies of this girl and not immediately put out a casting call for a replacement.

I think Eve has been punished by karma by being given Paige/Beige as her child. Actually, Paige/Beige reminds me of Sydney Penny in looks.. but without her personality.

She even tried to smother her with a pillow.

I think Tomlin's going to do a rape plot with Paige, possibly with Theresa's new bf being the rapist but JJ gets accused like his father. The writers have spent too much time with the Kayla/Paige connection and it would make sense as a plot point. Tomlin did a rape story when he was writing SFT (Sonny/Marcia McCabe)
