The lead-up was gold. Sonny humiliating Claudia @ her birthday bash, as sad/devastating as it was, was must see TV. And Maurice's last great performance. "DONT YOU EVEN MENTION MY SUN, AFTUH WHAT YOU DID TUH HIM, YOU PSYCHOTIC PIECE UH TRASH!!!" Drew Garrett rocked as Michael. The rewrite came years later when it was revealed that Scott killed Rick. It was Theresa, Rick's mistress that Laura had killed as a teen. She also killed David Hamilton as a teen. Then suddenly out of nowhere they blamed it all on his therapist and we spent a whole week watching Jennifer Bransford Carly, Sonny, Courtney, Reeses Pieces, Jason, and Sam chasing him around the hospital. Mark lived and Maria was sent away. On the radio soap, "Road of Life," Butch McEwen was accused of killing his own mother.
