I don't get all the automatic hate for the fact that he's a "newbie." He's recurring. He's clearly playing some random role that will come and go. Everyone was up in arms about Marie Wilson and she appeared in, what, two episodes?

Her story's not over yet.

Michael, it's the fact the show is casting too many newbies when Days is neglecting the characters it has on now and needs to bring back some other characters. We're not saying newbies are bad, it's just that Tomlin is flooding the show with newbies just to piss us off.

Exactly. And it does not help that his 'newbies' are/have been flops.

Preach sungrey and Nothin'ButAttitude! Agreed 100%. I'm totally fine with newbies, but the show's balance is terrible, there are too many past characters completely ignored, current characters are ignored, storylines are abysmal .... the show is a mess.

I get what you guys are saying. (And, for the record, I think plenty about the show is a MESS right now.) I just have a hair-trigger reaction to the "another newbie?!!?" stuff when it's pretty clear this is someone coming in to serve a plot function, a la Marie Wilson or Alicia Leigh Willis, as opposed to a Jordan or Paige or Aiden. You wouldn't recast Shawn Douglas to come in and play three days of random story with Nicole or whoever.

Serena's been on for a hot minute and she already has a past someone coming to town. Yes I know it's briefly but still ... at least they're not dragging it out like Jordan. Still. Who cares?

There needs to be a temporary ban on characters from someone else's past. Especially those connected to /new/ characters.

Yes. Because it never pans out good. Look at Jordan. Now Aidan. Neither one did justice for the character in the long haul.
