I wouldn't be opposed to an investigation showing that Adam's car had a mechanical failure that caused him to lose control of the vehicle or some failure that caused his headlights to go out obscuring his view so that he didn't see Delia, making him not liable in her death. There are real cases in the news of cars like GM, Ford & Toyota having mechanical errors, sometimes with deadly results.

And Sharon's bi-polar storyline is being constantly used as a cudgel to beat this character into the dirt. They just need to go on ahead and make that a benign slow growing tumor on the part of her brain that determines behavior and have it removed. They can take it all the way back to when she get hit after running out into the street and getting hit by a car all those years ago. Y&R is not good at writing some of these ailments and it's time to fix it and move on.

I think I would care more about this GC land grab by Joe Clarke if the Colonnade Room and Gina's were still around. The sets have changed so many times in recent years that it has become pretty impossible to become attached to much of anything since the 90s.

Would this even matter? He was never really at fault for the accident itself, as I understood it. His crime is hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident. If he had gone straight to the police once he realized what he'd done, he might never have even faced charges.

You're right, it wouldn't make any difference as to the crime of leaving the scene of the accident. But it would answer the question that everyone continues to ask of how could Adam not have seen a little girl in the street (particularly if the headlight lamp(s) went out--which apparently is an actual problem). I just watched a recent episode where someone (not sure whether it was Jack or Sage?) asked that same question of how could he not see Delia.

If they're still bringing it up, for some reason, they're making it something of a big deal.

It could improve one aspect, but you're right, overall, it wouldn't improve much. Adam still left the scene.

^ Gotcha. I must not have been paying very good attention to the dialogue because I didn't notice that the brought that up again. I explained it to myself by thinking that she was too short to see, if Adam was driving an SUV. He got out and looked for Dash and he just didn't see Delia. Which is completely ridiculous. I refuse to believe anyone could hit a child, get out of their car and still not know it. I just chalked it up to stupid soap writing.

Yeah, now that you remind me, that is truly silly soap writing. They wrote the character into a corner but I guess it fit into how the character had already been written as jamming syringes into his eye and throwing a fetus into a fireplace.

(LOL) I'm surprised I came back to watch this damn show!

This story of Adam's return would be so much better with a decent actor in the role of Billy. I'm sure the people at Y&R know this but have kept BJ in the role for the sake of stability. They need a Billy present and don't want to bring on yet another new actor so they're letting the story play out with BJ and will axe him as soon as Adam is reestablished in GC. I wouldn't mind if Billy went away for awhile and JFP & co. spent a good long time casting about for a new actor. That strategy worked out well for the roles of Phyllis and Adam.

I wish someone at Y&R would talk to JM about toning down the middle-aged frat-boy schtick. When he said in Friday's episode that the Christmas decorations look "sweeeeet!" I wanted to shout at him, "You're a 40-year-old man trying to prove that you're the better and more responsible parent to a little girl. Act like it!" I'm sure these are acting choices he's making himself (and has been making since he joined Y&R twenty years ago), but they're grating and verging now on sad.
