The thing that frustrates me most about Neil's blindness is that Adam had this story for years. Once was enough, especially since Adam's blindness was on and off for years. Boring!

I think that knowing it won't be permanent makes is less interesting.

How many decent blindness stories have their been in soaps? Very few...Hope was one of the exceptions. I have no idea why Y&R would go to that trope because they tend to be awful...

Beth's blindness story on GL was good -- especially with Lujack posing as Lenny.

BTW, I like your ideas for the Winter's Khan, but we all know we won't get anything that could. I'm not feeling very optimistic about Y&R right now.

Also, Ian trying to get with Mariah is disgusting.

I'd rather Neil just die! Inserting him into Hevon's SL will NEVER be forgiven. That sap destroyed them for me. KSJ probably asked that all WOC pass thru his pathetic ass and hopes it sticks! !@#$%^&*]!

I have to agree,,,,they screwed up what could've been a good story. I don't even have the same interest in them the story has gotten so ridiculous. This was going to be Devon's first real onscreen romance. Hevon truly has great chemistry, so I was ready to see this story develop, but nope...they just had to add Neil. I hate to say it, but I bet KSJ just KNOWS the WOC are going to always be involved with him. It happens all the time.

IMO, if they just had to create a triangle, there were more than enough young guys that could've been the other man, like Mason, Tyler, or heck even Noah. Anybody but daddy, Neil.

The blindness story is the worst I've ever seen in my eight years of watching soaps. But I can't tell if it's KSJ's bad acting oR the writing, both of which suck.

It's almost as if KSJ knows they plan to reveal Neil is faking his blindness and is playing it that way but if its the case it doesn't work when the audience doesn't know.

Its so bad its funny how they've got Neil acting, so I'd say its bad writing and acting. First off, its a dumb story of this big time Executive buying this big house with faulty wiring. Instead of making sure the place was up to par....he tries to play Mr. Electrician, and becomes blind...Please! Its just over the top, and so has KSJ's acting. Another thing that I find so annoying is how Neil keeps reaching out to Devon to look after Hilary as if she's some helpless baby...lol I just rolled my eyes when he did this mess at Kay's memorial asking him to dance with her. Come on writers.

Meanwhile, Nikki's drunk, belligerent ass is stumbling all over the place, and even TGVN can't wake up and smell the Altoids. WTF is going on, Y&R?

Oh, well. At least I got to see Nina again -- and for a moment seeing Tricia Cast in the same scene w/ KSJ reminded me of when they were co-starring in the "Bad News Bears" TV series. Man, that was a good show. I wish someone would bring back the reruns.

The show is in a bad state right now. I find myself watching out of habit these days. Nikki and her self pitying has been a bore. I can barely understand what she's whining about. .

Right now I can't stand Neil's current story, and just wish TPTB would think outside the box for him instead of the same repeat stories. This blind story is clearly one of the worst, IMO.

Yeah, I watched KSJ and Tricia Cast on the BNBs as a kid also. They played two of the iconic roles.:) Anyway, I always thought it was interesting to see them basically growing up onscreen together. Nina was also one of my favorites, and I'd love to see her return to the show. Nina always spoke her mind.

I expect that Neil will book the hotel for Hillary & Devon once he announces that he can no longer perform his husbandly duties. That's how ridiculous that whole aspect is.

Don't even remind me. I dropped in and out of the last decade of ATWT because some of those stories were not worth the time and effort for me. I was in school too, so I had ample excuse to stop watching for months at a time.

With the way JP likes to 'borrow' old ATWT storylines, I suspect that Victoria will somehow end up tied to railroad tracks.

Terry Lester's Jack sure as hell would've read that paper! Jack should have snapped a picture with his cell phone camera at least. I too thought...'What the what! Who is this man?!'

I was thinking that's the only way to make this triangle the least bit interesting. Regardless, we know Neil will end up with a new lady love five minutes after he breaks up with Hillary (maybe even 5 minutes before) because that's all they make Neil do these days.

Whoever said the conclusion of the Music Box story was a big Dud, boy were they ever speaking truth to power! I suspected that it wouldn't turn out to much but even this fell beneath my low expectations. What foolishness!

Terry Lester will always be Jack Abbott to me. He died so very young. Loved him.

I can almost guarantee a date set up by Neil in the next couple of weeks. A movie, perhaps?

I think Neil and Jack have both been hurt by the fact that they don't have a stable love interest. Stable might even be the wrong word, but neither of them has "the one" the way Victor does. It makes them seem less than the patriarchs they should be at this point. Even if they were committed bachelors that would be better than going through so many love interests and marriages the way they have.

I'm trying to figure out why Ian's holding Mariah hostage (for five mil until the rest can be wired) but in a wedding dress is what I don't get. Ian is a trip dude is tenacious. He' determined to get a buck out of the Newmans.

  • Member

Because Ian, like most messianic cult leaders, believes God has destined him and Mariah to be husband and wife. Or some [!@#$%^&*] like that.

This story has shades of Mitch Lawrence, Natalie and Jessica to me

It is all Mitch, Natalie and Jessica w/o missing a beat! When I learned Mariah was Cassie's twin, I knew I had already seen this before.
