YAS. Don't get me wrong -- I love me some Cookie. But, damn, Anika shut it down with that comment.

For the sake of story and interest, I want Anika to get even better.

Exactly! Especially if she's dealt with this many times. You do what you gotta do (especially since, clearly, there's money and status involved for her).

Maybe, but maybe she just doesn't want to see him go down the rabbit hole again and she's basically telling him that she's going to force him to get help if he does. I don't know, divorce seems the much colder reaction to a spouse refusing to take their meds, especially when bipolar people are infamous for refusing meds. It's part of the disease.

Yes, it was interesting that Cookie and Rhonda seem to get along, unless Cookie was just using her.

Was it Vernon who defended Cookie, or Andre? I thought it was Vernon originally, but then Andre was looking at FoFo like he was one second away from beating him and Cookie gave him that look... Maybe it was both lol

I would have done the exact same thing: You're taking your meds whether you like it or not!

I think that she could end up getting pregnant later on. I could see a storyline where she ends up finding out she's pregnant after her and Lucious break up/he realizes he still loves Cookie. He could leave her for Cookie, only to find out that she's pregnant with his baby, and she uses that child to try and get a share of Empire.

I think that Cookie may have thought that Rhonda was okay. I think she might make comments here and there about her to Andre or whoever, but I think that for now, they might get along alright. Especially if Rhonda continues to try and help her like she did on tonight's episode.

Also, I think that Vernon was the only one that really defended Cookie. He defended her twice, once in the office, and in the elevator I thought that Andre didn’t really do anything, he just kind of look like there was drama but I don’t think he said anything. I can’t say I’m really surprised that Lucious didn’t really defend her, but I thought that Andre could have stood up for his mama more. Jamal defended their mother to Hakeem, I think that Andre could have defended her to the rapper.

Well, Rhonda is helping Cookie because, for now, helping Cookie = going against Hakeem. But I see what you're saying and I'm actually hoping that Cookie gets along with at least her, since she has such contentious relationships with almost everyone else.

Also, it was good to see Rhonda working and doing it well, instead of just being the pill-pushing, bib-wearing slore.

You're probably right that it was Vernon. I remember thinking there ought to have been more defending. No matter what their personal history is, this is some random guy insulting your ex/mom.

I knew Fox going to do something to turn me off of them. I bet they would never do that if Bush was in charge.

Anyway., I think Cookie is feeling out Anika. How do you talk back to a bitch that just got out of Jail.

Another thing Anika wasn't saying that when she was about to catch a Solange in the elevator. She was hiding right behind Lucious.

    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
    • He a dirty dog! Those are his kids and he hurt everyone. At this point he needed to just come clean. I can't believe I was lusting over this man! I hope they aren't quick to forgive.
    • The way I took it is that he did not want to confirm or deny anything until he talked to Nicole first. He was very calculated with the wording he used with Martin and Kat
    • I still see Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton when Martin gets angry.
    • Not that I want to defend Y&R's writers, but it's not as absurd as you'd think and I believe they plucked it from reality (and then bungled it). The Estee Lauder Companies purchased Tom Ford's brand several years ago and I am willing to bet that's how Jabot came to buy Marchetti.
    • Loved the episode today. looking forward to the fallout. Nubian-Sheila looked fantastic, but I wish the writers would cut back on her overuse of figurative language. I loved the "fix yo mind ministries" line though. The background music during her fantasy confrontation with Nicole was epic.
    • Nothing makes sense on this show. I wish there was a garbage can emoji. That sums up 90% of the show right now.

Jane Wyman return episode was head-to-head w/ Cheers season 8 finale. Falcon Crest broadcast syndication began Fall 1986, which overlapped w/ Oprah going national. AFAIK cable broadcasts were Lifetime and Soapnet. I have no memory of cable broadcasts on TBS, TNT, TNN, E!, FX.
    • After today’s rushed and abrupt exit for Summer I immediately realized that Josh & Co. were very blindsided by AL’s decision to leave.  Not the first time this has happened to JG either; see MM & HK’s exits in 2021, MM’s exit in 2022, and of course TSJ’s exit last year. Obviously JG and our executive in charge of nothing Steve Kent don’t have a good handle on casting disruptions. And Mariah having an offscreen affair is [!@#$%^&*] ridiculous!! Meanwhile Tessa’s blonde hair is overkill with the number of blondes on the show already. I said the same thing 3 years ago…of course it was utterly ridiculous everyone was mad at Sally for getting Summer he dream job (don’t ask lol) but there was so much the show could have done without bringing on the Marchetti angle.
