And yet, some of you continue to validate my keystrokes on my correct statement (since there's no reason to front as if it's anything other than fact at this point) over and over again to the point where you're carrying on for me.

Which leads me to another UO, I hate that Katherine Bell (a bitch who I did love to hate) got thrown in their boring orbit instead of keeping her around as a thorn in the Quartermaines' side where she worked best. (This was ages before I'd learned that the motivation behind that was to capitalize on the fantastic pairing [which I hadn't discovered until last year] that MBE had with SN on DAYS - and even this knowledge isn't enough for me to justify the pairing that sucked the soul out of my Katherine.)

I can't say that I hated Lisa (though I will say that the only time that I found her remotely interesting was in the brief time that she was fvcking with Emma's sperm donor's head after they'd slept together and before Robin found out), but the reaction to her throughout her time on canvas (after she'd endangered Robin's life more than once) was in no way comparable to Sabrina for merely existing (even though I've yet to hear a single thing about her actually endangering Robin or Emma in the time that she's been around).

I started to mention Katherine Bell in my post but decided against it. I had never been happier to see someone dead (for the second time). I didn't love to hate her, I just hated her. I felt like she brought Stefan down. I did like him with Bobby at one point in time though. I read somewhere that TPTB brought her on at SNs request. I feel even more justified in my hate of her and the pairing.

I don't get how someone can make all of these claims about why Sabrina is so hated while also admitting that they've only ever seen the character a few times. Maybe if you'd ever actually watched her, you'd understand why she's hated. Guess what? It's not about her race, no matter how much you want it to be. She is a terribly written character.

'Admitting' would imply that I'd have something to be ashamed about, which I don't. I've said this before and I'll say it again - I don't have to tune in to a show to correctly assess a viewership's reaction to a POC character and/or actress because it's the same predictable one every time. That's how they roll and the hatred for Sabrina (and any other POC character in comparison with their white counterparts - no matter how flavorless the latter are) supports that.

I have to be honest and say I have NEVER seen another character on any soap, black, white, Hispanic or otherwise as propped as Sabrina. And her acting isn't the best so I can see why she's hated. Although she's grown on me, I hated her as well and to honest still wouldn't mind if she left the show.

For the record, I don't care about Sabrina or the actress that plays and never have, so I can't say that I have an investment in her. Fill in another POC character / actor in her slot and the vitriol will be the same - disproportionate to that of their white counterparts. The defensive reaction to my observation is proof enough of that.

    • Uh, yeah, huh?!!! Seriously, that was a brilliant line but its acumen is strictly from how hilarious. We imagine Joss in Carly's kitchen breaking the news that she's realized she's gay & Carly is unconcerned & then drops that it's Emma she's in love with ... time comes to a screeching halt!!! I think Moss would likely be thrown hard against the wall. Can you imagine Carly & Robin as mothers of the brides together?
    • @DRW50 Thanks for these. I had a procedure on my eyes and was just okayed for limited screen time the other day, but it is in short periods until Tuesday, when the doctor clears me.  I'll be adding in bits here and there, but Hoppers will be "hopping" after that. Upcoming: Rest in Peace, Denise Alexander, Ruth Buzzi and Priscilla Pointer Updating:   Max Gail, @Xanthe -- Will Lyman, who was lost in the shuffle a year ago, but his update from last year will be typed up;  New: Michelle Hurd and Shanola Hampton and others I'll b updating the edit-able profiles, too.

The shoulders and sleeves are too tight. He'd benefit from a larger size. The yellow arrows show where the shoulder cut should actually be placed in my opinion. I don't mind the granpa fashion per se, I just have an OCD with sizes LOL
    • Today May 11, 2025, Pope Leo briefly addressed the crowd in the square.  He sang the prayer to Mary and then said:   Dear brothers and sisters, The immense tragedy of the Second World War ended eighty years ago, on 8 May, after having claimed sixty million victims. In today’s dramatic scenario of a piecemeal third world war, as Pope Francis stated many times, I too address the world’s leaders, repeating the ever-timely appeal: “Never again war!”. I carry in my heart the sufferings of the beloved Ukrainian people. May everything possible be done to reach an authentic, just and lasting peace, as soon as possible. Let all the prisoners be freed and the children return to their own families. I am deeply saddened by what is happening in the Gaza Strip: may there be an immediate ceasefire! Let humanitarian aid be provided to the stricken civil population, and let all the hostages be freed. On the other hand, I have welcomed with satisfaction the announcement of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, and I hope that through the upcoming negotiations, a lasting accord may be reached soon. https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/angelus/2025/documents/20250511-regina-caeli.html
    • Lol! I'm quite sure it would.
    • But that is pretty much situation normal for all soaps. They do not tend to continue to show things like surgical scars. They also play fast & loose with hospital procedures.
    • re: prior two posts about Trump's new opulent plane contrasted with utter starvation in Gaza... Trump and Netanyahu are giving "Let them eat cake".  And it's horrific. In 2013, Pope Francis removed a bishop from running the Limburg Germany diocese because he was constructing an opulent 31-million-euro building. This is from Reuters obit of Francis: https://www.reuters.com/world/obituary-pope-francis-shook-up-church-with-simplicity-raising-conservative-ire-2025-04-21/ From the start, Francis sent clear signals to priests and bishops about the type of Church he wanted. He said there was no room for "careerists or social climbers" among the clergy, told cardinals they should not live "like princes," and said the Church should not "dissect theology" in lush salons while there were poor people around the corner. "If investments in banks fall, it is a tragedy and people say 'what are we going to do?' but if people die of hunger, have nothing to eat or suffer from poor health, that's nothing. This is our crisis today. A Church that is poor and for the poor has to fight this mentality," he said early in his papacy. -- Pope Francis stood up for the poor, the unhoused, the migrants of all faiths.  He lived simply and ordered that when he died, that he wished to be interred in a simple wooden coffin. I sincerely hope that the new pope Leo will follow Francis' example.
