YR: Actor out

Terrific news! That talking surfboard was all wrong for Jack. If they recast, I hope we get someone good.

I hear he was not that much better. They need to find a talented young man for this role!

I agree. HS is attractive, but Kyle and Noah both need to be played by actors who have some real screen presence. They are a big part of the show's future, meanwhile neither of the actors stand out in any way.

... speaking of which, wouldn't it be funny if they consider that actor who played Noah briefly between Kevin Schmidt's tenure(s) in the role?! That would be crazy, especially since he has a slight resemblance to Hartley Sawyer-- well, except for that exceptional chin that Sawyer has.

Luke Kleintank, interesting

Who is Rob Scott? Is that the Ken doll from AMC?

Robert Gorrie's terrific, but I have a feeling if he's on Y&R he would be portrayed as a greasy sleaze.

There's never been any point in Kyle. Ever. I can think of few soaps where these magical babies who are created for a few months of plot go on to have any value. Just ask Abby.

Yeah Robert Scott Wilson AKA Pete Cortlandt from AMC

A greasy.sleaze how?

Just smarmy, whoring around, etc.

The early writing for Matthew veered that way until they changed it. I think it would be easy to use Gorrie in that capacity, even if he can do more.

Zack Conroy would be great but again, what would the character be? Kyle is nothing but White Swinging Dick #327. That's all he's ever been there to be. There's a gaggle of guys on that show who are practically anonymous in motivation and personality.

Hollering now...right you are though. I don't see a need for the character. He doesn't add diversity nor does he stand out onscreen. He brings nothing to the show that I saw other than a "named guy" connected to a core family for Summer to date.

I liked Rob Gorrie on OL but my concern is that his Kyle and RA's Noah would be a bit too reminiscent of a male version of the Bobbsey Twins.

There's already so much doubling on this show-- you have Courtney and Summer, Chloe and Chelsea. You need someone who provides enough of an obvious contrast with Noah to make the conflict work (sure with great writing none of this should matter but given this show's recent history with writing story, do we really want to take that chance?).

Now this rumour makes me wonder about that Abbott cousin casting note that had been floating around for some time.

I thought the execs already admitted that both the abbot cousin and Williams relative were smoke screens for recast Billy.

I agree that their is lots of duplication. This Abbot should look different from Noah (he needs to be blue eyed and closer to blonde than brunette) and have a totally different personality. I would take a rigid stuffed shirt with a bit of snob who is looking for daddy's approval. Totally opposite of Noah.

Well, I thought that what Blake Hood didn't do in acting..and I thought he had moments...he did look like Jack's son. Worked for me. ph34r.png

But I love all the alternatives.

I know that the williams casting was a smokescreen. Now that abbot cousin...whistling.jpg

They should not recast Kyle, but if they do he should be de-aged to a teenager.

why? I thought keeping him so young while aging Noah and Abby was a mistake. I thought they took a step in the right direction SORASing him

Keemo is the only child with any storyline potential for Jack. Beyond that, maybe give HIM a son. Kyle is not needed at all and adds NOTHING to the show or Jack's storyline.

The mistake was aging the characters in the first place.

It all fits, Bradford Anderson leaving GH and comes to Y&R

He's asexual enough to be Jack's son.

Agreed. I don't understand why this concept is so hard to grasp. If they don't want to bring on Keemo, then bring on jack's grandson r granddaughter. But they have aged the teenagers (fen, Summer, Kyle) that could be a back drop for the story. All the others are way to recently born to be teens or their parents are too young. I mean, they could age reed. Victoria is old enough and if they get her away billy I could see it. But they can't be older than 14.
