Monday:

Eh my Gerhhhd, somebody choke me, please. What a horrid episode! I am still numb because of it.

This is how the Heather thing evolved? Franco suddenly shows up? Damn, and I was looking forward to The Horse and the Psycho fighting it out. I love how Carly didn't hear a thing through an open door and how Franco managed to "kill" Heather and cover up her murder during the time Carly ended the shower and got out of the bathroom. What kind of nonsense is that?

And later, Franco is offered an actually valid excuse for his behavior (working on an art piece) but he chooses to claim he's a housekeeper now. Why? And the brilliant lawyer he was talking to didn't even notice Franco was not wearing a uniform? Gag me!

The macho talk stuff between Patrick and Carlos was laughable. Buuuut, was that the end of it? Nope! Carlos, a hired killer for the mob, just answers his (plastic) doors without even a gun for protection? Without checking who was there? What an idiot. And just to make sure they compound on the inane stupidity, a mob boss accompanies his hired killer in a cemetery in broad daylight, holding Carlos at gunpoint and having a conversation? They could have at least gone to Rape Pier. They make the Jeromes look professional.

But it got worse! Cos AJ's on the stand, telling the jury that he had a weapon, he had the desire to kill but, just because he doesn't remember doing it, then clearly that casts enough doubt! Naturally, it doesn't matter that he defends himself, as long as he has the chance to say it in his own words. Poor guy; he is being written like a complete, utter idiot and the way Michael and that Screeching Ho propped him was insane. The judge is so useless, too. WTF, bitch? You don't even try to advise AJ against this madness? He asks if he can skip a closing argument (as if you ask for no pickles on your sandwich) and she smiles sweetly? Useless bitch! And, of course, Carly was in the shower for over half an hour but the jury makes a decision within minutes.

I'm not even going to talk about that... trio. Nope. No.

LMAO at Robin asking Suckrina to back the f*ck out. It was quite literally the only thing I enjoyed. Suckrina better oblige!

That Lucy and Scott gif? I'm dying. Love my Scott & Lucy. Can't wait to watch their scenes. :D

And not even a gentle ribbing from my cyber sisters Selena, Addie and Angie about me getting a Scott & Lucy kiss after their Kevin & Lucy were torn apart? I know I'm not here as often anymore, but come on, you guys! :P

In any case, I'll take Lucy calling Scott "Pal" over her calling Kevin "Doc" any day. Yeah, I said it. :D

The more I watch this [!@#$%^&*] the more I think it's so ridiculous that Roger Howarth isn't simply playing Steve Webber.

Going back to the first recast in the mid-2000s, Steve had a shady history which lends itself to Howarth's talents - he was an undercover man working with John Durant to get close to Carly. Later, we know he killed a mobster on the operating table. He just served time. While it still would hardly have been anywhere near an ideal recast IMO - Roger Howarth rarely works in 'straight' roles - it wouldn't have taken anything at all to make that character be semi-tailored for Howarth and it would've at least allowed another Webber/Hardy connection on the canvas. Especially if Steve - or Steven, whatever, they used to call him that when Shaun Benson was in the role - has lost his license, is an underworld doctor, whatever. It's not like Silas Clay is exactly setting the world on fire in that same role. He's boring as hell. Michael Easton is flailing.

    • She could have easily tied them into the Cottage Mystery...(they could have easily explained going on adventures with Bea, babysitting) The house that Tony and Annabelle lived in could have been the coachhouse of the property that Qualo and Henry live in, or at the very least Nola would have been totally in on ghosts and secrets of her brother's house. But they kind of just sat around for months.  The clip of Van and Billy's impromptu wedding shows how sidelined Nola and Quint became...Nola isn't even around butting in on them getting married, its all Reva (though it is a more interesting Reva where Mindy and her or going at it and insulting each other..THAT Reva was fun.)  I loved it when those two would go at it. Somehow they could have resurrected that antogonistic relationship and not have Billy worshing at the throne of Reva.  When they brought JC back on recurring they should have had him at least warn Annie about Jeva pulling her down..."Darlin' I love my brother, but when he has ole Reva in his sites he will drop any woman to try to win her back...and then he will get bored with her...she's like booze is to me and you...he hates it but he needs it..get out while you can!"
    • It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd.  1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled. Empty Nest 7 season run equaled the parent show The Golden Girls.
    • In an interesting turn of irony, when Somerset came onto the airwaves in 1970... it ran against Dark Shadows and beat it in the ratings fairly quickly.  Then when Edge of Night moves to ABC in December 1975 and put against Somerset, the slow ratings rise that Somerset was allegedly having in late 1975 is derailed. From reading the write ups of the final year, the show dropped the May/December romance.. which viewers enjoyed and was getting the show some good press... the original cast member was sidelined due to medical issues, and the show featured pure crime stories without any balance. I think the crime focus was an attempt to compete with EON.  However, people that were into crime stories/mysteries weren't going to tune into Somerset for their fix.. not when Edge of Night was known for that.. and that show was running on a high quality wise when the network switch occurred.

    • Erwin Nicholson's last episode as SFT ep was 11/21. Whitesell started 11/22/85. Erwin was on board from March 8, 1985 so less than 9 months. Whitesell lasts six months (approximately) before P&G moved him to AW for two years where he primarily worked with DePriest. Whitesell was replaced on Search by no daytime experience David Lawrence who closed out the show's last six months.

    • I assume in name only?  One Stormy Night wasn't exactly steamy.  If it's a literal throwback then Stephanie's writing about sexy times her own Uncle was having lol. Since I am going to surmise it's just a throwback to the name, Night Sins and Winter Heat both sound sexier.  Just saying.  I swear Jamey (and Ron) just google things and land on the first thing they like and decide it's a good throwback to history without watching it.
    • I usually don't want Tide placement in the middle of an intense sad scene, but this is an interesting point
