Wait, how is Kristen Stefano's surrogate child but he's not her bio father?

And is E.J. the same Elvis ED played in the '90s, but with plastic surgery?

Nicole has such an... enchanting? hypnotizing?... gaze. I don't mean this in an offensive way, but she reminds me of some dog breeds with those glacier eyes that seem to look straight into your soul.

Victor is a hilarious old coot.

I really need to buckle down and look at a family tree. Lots of half-siblings ("There are no HALF siblings!"), cousins by marriage, et cetera, that I'm still working out.

I'm not sure I'm understanding the question correctly, but E.J. is Elvis DiMera, the son of Susan Banks (who ED played in the 90s) and Stefano DiMera. Stefano dressed up as Elvis during the insemination. Kristen tried to pass him off as her child with John Black.

I thought ED also played a male character in addition to Kristen and Susan and I thought his name was Elvis. Mind you, I did not watch DOOL, this is just based on what I picked up flipping through the channels and my mom's SODs while I sat on the tallit.

Abby called Hope, Aunt Hope yesterday, but she's not her aunt, she's her cousin. I actually had to think there for a second and wonder if maybe she was her aunt via some type of marriage, but nope just cousins. I get it though. I have a cousin of my father who is older that I think of more as an uncle bc of the age gap. I don't call him uncle though

I believe Stefano took Kristen and Peter in after their mother was presumed dead when they were young. He raised them and treated them both as if they were his children. They pretty much are without that biological tie.

Kristen and Peter's biological mother was Rachel Blake who was the "woman in white" in the mid-90s. She died during the Paris underground tunnel explosion/collapse in 1996-ish... My memories on this are fuzzy as this is when I first started watching the show and I was a young kid.. but I do remember seeing Kristen and her mom interact. Again, others with a better memory of this time are free to correct me/add info.

Thanks! Wasn't sure if she'd been bouncing back and forth from Y&R as early as the '80s. I definitely knew her as a DOOL actor first because I recall being surprised by a SOD pic of her as a brunette-ish Ashley with bad hair.

    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
    • She’s INCREDIBLE. I’m so glad you enjoyed this my friend.
    • I loved SOAP OPERA NOW because they  did detailed analysis of the ratings.
    • I love MKA and feel like they never used her to her full potential with India. The character seemed to exist merely to fight with Alex and blackmail men into marrying/sleeping with her. As if! Then adopting an orphan right out of Little Orphan Annie...somebody BTS didn't like her, I think.
    • I mean...Sarah Michelle Gellar did go on to be a household name and food guru. I can see Ambyr doing the same with the same talent.  Amen.
