Members JONNYSBRO
The thing is JFP and Griffith was a boring dull regime but it wasn't destructive. Mab gutted and destroyed y and r with horrid stories and bad character assinanations. Plus jfps ratings are higher then Maria bells I mean u couldn't get lower. I am sure JFP has six months to a year. It's not like Jill hasn't been in this position before. Jill is a major vindictive bitch she has stayed in daytime for a reason she knows how to play the game. Y and r isn't in horrid shape it's just painfully boring no excitement at all.
Members soapfan770
Good god at Passanate coming aboard? Is this what people were wishing for with the call to push Griffith out? The couldn't get anyone else to write the show? ATWT 2005-2010 should show off her utter incompetence at writing a soap successfully and her pen for repetition and bad capers that were ripoff's of Sheffer's work. Really Passanate needs to be writing gothic romance novels like Leah Laiman or something. And that's probably who will be added next to the writing staff! Adam and Chelsea will became the new Paul and Emily. Billy and Chloe become the new Brad and Katie. Fen and Kyle become the new Noah and Luke. November we'll have Sheila Carter terrorizing Genoa City's denizens. Come December we'll get Nick's new secretary who's a psycho stalker. January will be when Victoria's ex Cole played by Matt Crane returns to town to ruin and or sexually assault her. In February we'll see all the women suddenly have their biological clock ticking!! Members Soapsuds
It's been like that for way too many years. Y&R lost its classic feeling long long long long time ago...its just a boring piece of dog dooo Seeing Steve Burton in the opening makes me sick to my stomach. Members Cat
BREAKING NEWS: Y&R will now be renamed Genoa Heights. I agree with this. The gutting was actually done under LML and MAB. JFP merely spray-painted the ranch set and dumped the music archive. I don't watch shows for any one particular character, but if Eric Braeden and MTS got fired, I think that would be it for me. I am still willing to give Shelly Altman a chance but she won't have as long as JG/JFP to prove herself.
Members JONNYSBRO
I am starting to believe Michelle Staffords major reason for leaving y and r was due to JFP. Makes perfect sense.
Members Darlotto99
Thats exactly why she left no doubt about it JFP forces out anyone who is not her friend.
Members ChitHappens
And that hurt YR how? As much as some love to believe otherwise, if CBS gave a damn about MS, she wouldn't have walked. They brought Jill in for doing something others didn't have the guts to do. Jill will probably get a bonus for getting rid of that beast as well as shaving down the airtime of the high paid actors! CBS wants to cut costs and they don't care about any individual actor. How many others want to believe they are bigger than the show and challenge Jill? I dare them! Members Chris B
Michelle Stafford was offered big money to stay, she decided to leave. For some people it just isn't worth the money. She'll likely have no problem finding other gigs, so why would she want to sign a contract and commit herself to a toxic work environment. Let's not act surprised, the same thing happened at GH. Members dragonflies
I wouldn't be surprised if Jill drove away Stafford, didn't she do the same to Brown & Braun on GH?
Members JONNYSBRO
I going back to bells being upset it's their fault they let their daughter in law make a mockery of the show. The only time Mab was good is when she had Paul rauch as her co exec producer but once he left it all faltered. Her over spending, her MIA when needed and her total egotistical attitude cost her y and r and thus turned everyone off to go back to the bells. Honestly Lynn Marie Latham who was an outsider her ratings weren't bad and she won an Emmy. I honestly lmls y and r was better than Maria bells. JFP is the next outsider and her ratings don't suck but the show is so snooze worthy.
Members SOAPSFOREVER
Challenge Jill? Many have, and some to their peril, but Jill always loses in the end. Her reputation in the soap industry, except with her notorious FOJs, is abysmal. She has a limited bag of tricks, like changing sets and music. When that doesn't boost ratings, she starts gutting shows in all the wrong ways. She's following her typical template at Y&R. CBS (Angelica) and Sony (Steve Kent) made a huge mistake hiring Jill, and it;s all starting to crumble. The press for this show is horrendous now. Instead of talking about the characters and stories, the behind the scenes machinations grab the headlines. No one wants to invest in a sinking ship. And that's what Y&R is, and will continue to be under Jill's leadership. Shelly Altman, if tapped as head writer, would be an even worse choice than JG. She has no history with Y&R. She basically cut her teeth at ABC, and we all know where their daytime lineup is now. Jill doing something that others do have the guts to do is laughable. She's the weakest EP to hit the soap world. And she's destroying a classic soap. She needs to go. Challenge Jill? Many have, and some to their peril, but Jill always loses in the end. Members dragonflies
At this point I would not be shocked if B&B is the last soap standing lol
Members Soapsuds
Id love it to pass Y&R in the ratings....was seeing the credits and there are a lot of old school writers from Y&R now on B&B.
Members DramatistDreamer
I used to think that Y&R would be the last soap standing but when MAB starting writing junk and reading about Sony's financial woes over the last 3 years (although Sony is slowly starting to stop the shedding), I started to believe that B&B might be the last remaining daytime drama. Hard to tell, but clearly chaos in the production of daytime soaps is contagious.
