I'm surprised that that bootleg Perez Hilton (I'm assuming that this is the 'Nelson' that you speak of) didn't attempt to drag her into his messiness.

I thought he hated her. He must be desperate for buyers.

She still sells, evidenced by being on the SOD cover almost 7 years after leaving daytime. People love to talk about what a failure or has-been she is, but if she and a soap could get it together, she'd be a draw.

People love to hate on her, but she is not a has-been or a failure. I know you aren't calling her, but that is how people perceive her. She's been doing very well with all three of her books and she has successfully been touring for years. She only returned to acting last year and since then she's had lots of success. She guest starred on Law and Order: SVU, had a recurring role on Single Ladies (a big hit for vh1), she did a film last year, almost got a role on DAYS and is auditioning for major shows. That's pretty good considering she's just started looking again.

If it was recent, it may have been the special prosecutor, Melinda Trask. I believe the casting call went out looking for an Asian or African American actress.

I just got the new SOD and she says that the DAYS casting director (who was at Y&R for many years) wanted her for a recurring role and right before her audition she was removed from the audition list. Her agent was told that she probably wouldn't want the recurring role since she was such a big daytime actress.

That's dumb bc many recurring roles turn into full time gigs.

Glad to hear she wasn't up for a Lexie recast. That wouldn't sit right with me especially with how Renee was wasted in recent years

It is dumb. I wonder if with the Sony connection, someone higher up took her off the list once they realized it was a strong possibility she would be cast.

Just an update -- There are 30 days left and Ronn Moss has joined the cast. So you also have Brenda Epperson, Davetta Sherwood, the man who played Dru and Olivia's dad on Y&R and possible roles for Kimberlin Brown and Dick Van Dyke. Unfortunately, she's stalled at around 11,000 and hasn't had any contributions for a while. It's a shame she wasted so much good promo with the Kickstarter campaign, because towards the end she was really getting support. Hopefully she kicks things into gear soon.

Haven't been in here in a minute, but thank you for the updates, Chris B. I'd like to think that there'll be some last minute breakthrough, but if it doesn't happen, it certainly isn't for lack of trying.

Either way, I'm rooting for Queen Vicki.

Seems like no matter how much or how little people contribute to the campaign to raise funds, I actually think she'll make it work. She seems indefatigable that way. Probably a necessary trait one needs when navigating the entertainment industry.

Well, she's got nearly $18,000 and that's not bad. I hope she finds a channel that will pick it up.

One of the many reasons why I love Queen Victoria.
