Agreed that those numbers are worrisome for GH. It's a good thing for GH that ABC is struggling with "Katie" and she might be gone after this year. If she were successful I could see ABC trying to get another hot name for another talk show.. I really believe CBS/NBC seem to be behind their (few remaining) soaps.. and I really believe that ABC is as well as long as numbers stay up... but those GH numbers have had a huge drop since their 50th

This is the second time that overload of the OLTL rejects has led to a ratings drop. I don't understand who decided that viewers wanted to see Kristen Alderson 24/7 when many GH viewers vocally disliked Starr. And Easton and Howarth have never been ratings draws.

Add in the generally unlikeable, poorly written new characters like Sabrina and her token, and the whiny, boring teen scene, and the stories that are badly made up as they go along, and there just isn't much to enjoy.

The ratings will probably go up again next week, but these are crappy for a show that is endlessly, endlessly hyped as the best soap ever.

Does anyone know how many people are in Nielsen's sample these days? I sometimes get the feeling that 3 people in Nielsen's sample miss a Friday episode and that causes a plunge of hundreds of thousands of viewers for the day/week.

Lately the shows have all gone up or down significantly together. To me, that is a sampling issue which Nielsen needs to fix. I don't believe that ALL soaps were awful last week, compared to the week before when they were all up from the week before.

no offense but I'm sick of them being called "Lifers" they're GH actors & have been for almost a year and a half, Roger is the only one who can remotely be called a OLTL'er, KA & ME haven't been on OLTL since Jan 2012

rant over sorry this wasn't directed at you

    • Side note: I was thinking about the irony of the number of children John, Victor, and Stefano found later in life.  I wonder if Tony Dimera will ever find a long-lost child?  Either from Melaswen (I hope not), or a kid that Anna's kept hidden.
    • Does anyone else think theyre chem testing Kat/Jacob ? I will admit I like them lol
    • She ate; today's talent cannot compare to Janet.

    • Hump Day Thoughts Let me start with the snark: I can accept that John's memorial will be held at the pub—but I do not believe that a man who spent years thinking he was a priest (and fought the devil twice) wouldn’t have wanted a church funeral. It’s not the choice of venue that bothers me—it’s the casual, throwaway dialogue that pulls me out of the moment. That said, I was genuinely riveted by the scenes of everyone catching Bo up on what he’s missed. His sense of shock and grief felt earned. Imagine waking up to find that so many people you loved had died—and that you’d caused so much pain to your wife and son. That brief moment of overwhelm was beautifully played. And if you think back to EJ or Stefan's resurrections, there was no acknowledgement of an adjustment.  (Of course, IRL, someone would’ve eventually told him: “Honestly, Bo, you were lucky to sleep through the Ron C. years.”

) Also, kudos to Hope for maintaining Bo’s beard, haircuts, and dye jobs all these years. I actually found it realistic. Many families of coma patients do keep up with grooming, partly as a way to pass time at the bedside. And let’s be honest: in real life, a lot of bearded men wake up clean-shaven because the machines require it… or because their wives secretly hated the beard all along. Props to Brandon Beemer today for stepping up and showing more emotional range than his usual “intensity mode.” It added depth, and it was needed. As for the chatter about the gay quad. I’ve read the comments, and I get the appeal, but I’ve never been a Paul fan. The guy’s just a drip. Not for me.
