Members ThePrinceOfSunspear
LMFAO I may have to tune in just to see that! It almost makes me want this paternity switch come true!
Members ~bl~
I hate this turn of events. It isn't that I am invested in any of these pairings, but it is a ridiculous situation. I don't get who this story serves and it is like they wanted to screw with fans on both sides of the equations. Those who love Nick hate that he was lying all these years, people who love Sharon are angry that she changed the DNA...and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is about out the door. Members Juliajms
Not any more. Things change. I wouldn't call Sharon a psycho, but she's obviously screwed up right now. She hasn't been the good girl in ages. People can hold on to the fantasy of her being next gen Nikki, if they want, but that ship sailed long ago. Sharon and Nick have both moved past each other in ways that Victor and Nikki never did. Personally, I'm not sorry. I'll always love Nikki, but she hasn't done anything interesting in a good long time. At least Sharon is making things happen. She'll be "redeemed" just like she was when she burned down the ranch. Members detroitpiston
So this whole story was a colossal waste of time. Please get JG a co-head writer already

Members Soapsuds
I'm so bored with baby switch storylines/switched paternity tests...ugh....its so unoriginal and lazy ass writing. That's why only 4 soaps are left in the airwaves.
Members soapfan770
Up until now I hadn't been offended by the work of JFP and Griffin. This offends me, because it pretty much makes the whole story pointless, brought three already destroyed characters to new lows for no reason, and if the rumors prove true like this has, then Phyllis' exit is also going to be painful to watch. The whole story had promise but now its being executed miserably and just doesn't sound like it would be worth watching.
Members Ann_SS
I agree. Nikki's bond with Victor has kept her from getting any juicy stories. I don't see Sharon as ruined even though she has gotten some stupid stories. Sharon just goes on doing all sorts of wacky things. This paternity switch thing is stupid, but I am going be cheering as Sharon shoves Phyllis down some stairs or whatever puts her in that coma. Deserved karma for that bitch! Members Juliajms
I don't see that this is as f*cked up at all. They are getting twice the drama for the buck. Everyone is going to feel betrayed by everyone else by the time this is over. I hope to god Victor ends up being responsible for Sharon's meds not working. I'll agree that switched paternity tests are silly, but it's something that soaps have been doing forever. At least Y&R is trying to make the most of this one. Members dio
you mean who did she eat out/blow... soap actresses would KILL to play what Sharon Case does. It's pure soap, and all these crazy storylines are what elevated Sharon from a so-so, forgettable character to a soap LEGEND.

Members edgeofnik
ITA - that SC has been given a ton of material that has kept her front and center. The problem is that the writers have Sharon do something crazy and then we get some sort of promise that the "character will return to her roots" and bam, they character does something crazy again. I'd rather have Sharon be more like Barbara on ATWT, a character that was "good," but eventually all the bad things that happened to her turned her into a full out b*tch. The switch stuck and it was believable because there was no flip flopping. That was one of the best long-time character flips that I can recall. (They had a stupid brain tumor story for Barbara, but that fortunately didn't last!) Let Sharon go loose in that manner, no excuses, etc.
Members ajsp35801
First of all, I never thought Sharon was a good girl. I always saw her as a manipulative gold digging little liar and hated her. However, she was not a cartoon character. She was human and flawed. Now she is the show's villain. She used to be someone I love to hate. Now i feel sorry for her because I feel like this change in the writing for her is an injustice stemming from backroom politics and propping. I resent that! I don't like her still. But i feel bad about hating her. I can't do it in good conscious. So I am not holding on to anything. I am pissed that these writers took from me. Members dio
i learned a loooooooooong time ago never to take what writers/producers say at face value (in general), especially wrt. a show that is KNOWN to pander to their 'talent' and placate fans w/ pretty words, that usually don't translate on-screen (I mean, I'm STILL waiting for 'strong'/backbone-Nikki... >.>) Anyway, I think the show/SC has done a decent job of straddling good/bad, real/over the top quite well... why shove Sharon onto either side, when they can continue to blur the lines? but hey, maybe, now that Phil's out of commission for a time... Sharon will dance with darkness a little longer? ;-) aside: who else thinks Billy + Nikki, slowburn affair is gonna happen? The Billy/Nikki heart2heart scenes these past couple of weeks have been... kinda, flashing red lights, imo.
Members ajsp35801
I disagree. Most Soap actors/actresses are very protective of their characters. I doubt any would be chopping at the bit to see their character do the things that Sharon has done over the last 2/3 years. I mean really, didn't MS fight tooth and nail to position herself as a heroine instead of the villain/anti-heroine she was meant to be...even so to the point where she asked writers (according to insiders) not to have Phyllis' past brought up...and when it was brought it, the writing painted her as a victim to evil scheming Christine who was out to get her.
