It is not outside the realm of possibility that they are trying to do just that.

Exactly. I would say the odds of them tanking stories/pairings they don't like are not low at all.

Summer Newman's.

what's the story though? They are saying that Jack is the father now? How did this stuff come out? Was there a new DNA test done?

The DNA is going to be run again...we don't know yet on screen who Summer is related to biologically as the old test had a problem.

I wonder if MS's bored performance during the Sharon/Summer conversation occurred after she was fired or before because after seeing that, I can believe JFP had had enough of her.

I have been convinced all along that Nick will remain Summer's father, but I am beginning to wonder. Jack as Summer's father would cut the major tie between Phyllis and Nick.

I really hope she is Jack's. It's what should have been from the very beginning.

I am really confused! It's just MTS and her fans dealing with a troll, no?

Uhh... Exactly where are you getting your information that Michelle was fired? rolleyes.gif

Exactly. I don't believe MS was fired. Was her airtime cut down drastically? You bet. That and the fact that contract negotiations were not going well (my hunch is that salary and year guarantees were the sticking point) likely hastened MS's decision to leave.

But IMO, part of what started her thinking about exiting was Josh Morrow and Sharon Case on The Talk yapping about Shick being the endgame. You could tell from her Twitter post at the time that she was hitting out passive-aggressively and was hurt by the idea that Phick was not the endgame. Josh Morrow was absolutely panicked by the idea that he had hurt her feelings.

She also wasn't crazy about the SL where Phyllis was brought up on charges related to hitting Cricket and Paul with her car -- allegedly she went to TPTB asking them to stop writing Phyllis like a villain. This paternity story, which cuts even more ties with Nick, may have been a final straw.

As for JM, I don't think he outright hates this paternity SL as it puts him on the frontburner. But he seems very uncertain about it. While he recognizes the value of Shick on the show, he also loves Phick and MS -- and I'm not sure he is all that keen on SC.

Agreed. And that's unfortunate because Jack was absolutely the right person for Phyllis to be paired with at this point - and I say that as someone who LOVED Phick before MAB ruined them.

It makes my blood boil when fans make up crackpot theories that suit their own agendas and present them as facts, and this "MS was fired" shlock is a prime example.

I'm not so sure about Morrow not liking Case though - at one time he reportedly refused to work with anyone else romantically. Unless something's changed since then.
