what was that? I thought contract were guaranteed 16 weeks of pay and RS is saying she got paid for 11. If true, pay up PP. Do right by your actors who without there would have been no show

Carl's favorite, John-Paul Lavoisier, discusses OLTL and PP along with his new webseries.

Did being a part of Beacon Hill, make you miss OLTL?

JOHN-PAUL: Oh, c’mon. (Sighs) I would sign a 30 year contract to be on One Life to Live if it was in front of me, right now. It’s a no brainer. I miss everything about it. Everything! I never had any complaints that whole time when I was on ABC. [...] It was heartbreaking. If anyone can go back and watch the same scene, I also say goodbye to Bo. And we did it in one take, and I actually flubbed one of my words because I couldn’t get it out, because I was so upset about the whole moment. Yes, in that moment when I had to say goodbye to Natalie, I remember the line that they wrote for her was, “What am I going to do without you?” And I think I said, “What am I going to do without you?” Those lines made perfect sense, because at the time everyone thought that Prospect Park was continuing OLTL, and at that time I was not going to go to Prospect Park, I was leaving, and so it was her saying, “I’m staying in Llanview, what am I going to do without you?” And John-Paul is going to stay on the west coast and Melissa is staying on the east coast. And what are we going to do without each other? And it was very real. The music was great. Sadly, it was a good episode.

Did you watch the new OLTL from Prospect Park?

JOHN-PAUL: I watched the first couple episodes of the new OLTL. I will say I enjoyed the AMC intro. I don’t think I got the OLTL intro. The dancing was weird. [...] I was in a wait and see mode. There were so many unanswered questions. They did ask me to be in the show, twice. Because of it being the Internet, I did not know what they could put on the Internet. I knew it wasn’t going to happen, but I still questioned things like, “Well, are we going to be doing full frontal nudity?” Is it going to be True Blood meets daytime? Who is Rex going to be on Prospect Park’s version?” There were too many unanswered questions, and no answered questions. But because Melissa Archer, and Bob Woods, and Tuc Watkins were all going with the production, I wanted too. But at that point as soon as they announced the ABC cancellation of OLTL, I immediately made plans to pack up and move to L.A. I could not deal with all the uncertainties of Prospect Park, and closing up and moving from New York, and to starting in L.A. and giving it a try. I had to make a decision. So I said, I am going to close this door. This got cancelled. I am just going to go see what other opportunities are out there. If right now everything worked out and they put OLTL on Showtime and offered me a contract for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t think twice about it. It was an awesome show. Until that day, however …. The other thing is, and this is just being a selfish actor, and sometimes you have to be, a lot of it was going to take place during pilot season and at the time being a 31-year-old new to L.A, I kind of needed to make myself available for other opportunities. The ten weeks they would have needed me was a crucial time for an actor to get his face known in L.A. The timing did not work out for me to try and do other things.

Would you have done the OLTL “Brand New Start” dance sequence, if they had you in the cast?

JOHN-PAUL: What am I dancing for? What is my motivation? I would dance with Shenaz (Treasury)! (Laughs)

His relationship with Tuc Watkins, which he discusses here, has always puzzled me for a number of reasons. But, uh, good for him. However I've soured on Rex, he has always apparently been a nice guy.

I enjoyed reading what JPL had to say. I never disliked Rex, though I did grow very weary of his schtick. But he was one of those familiar faces that you didn't realize you missed until they were gone. That said, I agree, there really was no place for him on the nuOLTL. And I sure as [!@#$%^&*] wouldn't want an open invitation for Gigi to come back with him, dear god!

If I never see Farah Fath act again I can live a blessed life

That John Paul interview seemed kinda pathetic. If casting agents are telling him he isn't good enough, what is he doing about it? He seemed defeated, but he needs acting classes. Is it any surprise we haven't seen him or Farah Fath? They are typical mediocre soap actors who get overhyped to death when they are merely decent and need ENDLESS acting classes. He has some charisma, just needs to really work on his craft. You can tell when actors are training because you can see the improvement.

I also don't understand the thing with Tuc. Are they really just besties? On one hand I feel he must be straight because who would really care if he's gay at this point?

I've heard a number of different things about JP from people who know him. But they all say he's a nice guy who isn't intentionally duplicitous in any way. I do think he never wanted to go to L.A. and that the drive isn't really in him. That was clear from what little I saw of that terrible reality show he did with Farah Fath.

On Dirty Soap he always seemed to think One Life would stay on & Farah was like its done move on & that was summer 2011 when he still had work to film

I believe they were still filming DS when PP came on Board with AMC& OLTL. I got the impression in later eppys of DS that he may have regreted not staying with OLTL

.

He truly misses OLTL by his comments of signing a lifer deal if the soap ever returned

Farah always seemed like Yoko Ono to me with JP. Like she was running his life

Farah is interviewed in the issue of SOD that is currently on newsstands

She says that she knew that the PP reboot was going to crash and burn but she was happy everyone got a job

She has hardly worked since and was pissed no one at PP called her. She aint happy for no one. That would take sincerity and she has none.

I say she had good instincts.
