A spin-off episode sounds good. I, too wish for the new writing team to fix mess from the fired writing team and figure out great visions with continuity in characters with character driven stories instead of the lazy plot point to plot point writing. I hope the new writing team will be successful at finding the right voice for the show in consistent writing.

Fill in the holes/gaps that are obvious to see. Yes, I do see PP having a future vision to see that the shows get into syndication because that means more $$$$.

Mostly just give it a 2nd year please.

You make very valid points here. Audiences should never "set the rules" for a show. PP selling point was more edgy, more innovative, more this and that and it does seem like they are caring about a group of audience and not the whole theater filled to capacity to entertain. Not everyone posts on AMC Facebook page and so there is no accuracy in representation of viewership, overall.

I am with you on this posting.

With the model for TV so dynamic these days, I'm really not sure whether current models like syndication will hold as much promise years from now, unless VOD is also part of the syndication process, in which case, language still won't matter.

Broadcast television on the whole is entering into a period where the viewers are more stratified. Appointment viewing is the old model and more and more networks are branching out to other models, if for no other reason than to augment the standard TV model.

Most broadcast TV shows now must accept lower ratings as the norm because people are streaming online and on watching on demand. I remember reading just last week that DVR sales are down and analysts speculate that it will go the way of the VCR, in that there won't be much growth--those who currently own will keep theirs but those who have never bought one will move directly to the next technology.

And reading that NYTimes article yesterday morning, I get the impression that the one or more of the major broadcast companies would like to fully own HULU and take it in a direction that benefits their profit margin.

I hope that no cable company gets ownership though because that will probably mean no free version--I hate how cable nickel and dimes you for everything! Hulu Plus should remain just that-- a Plus, not the standard way of streaming.

I know Yahoo! is interested, and I think I'd be more comfortable with a tech company owning and running Hulu because at least they would focus on continuing to improve the service technologically, which I think Hulu needs.

In short, I'm not so sure language holds as much sway as it once did, at least in shopping the programs for deals. I can see this changing in the next few years, the way media is headed.

I've been saying for awhile now that as a Doctor he should be interacting with the new Doctor, Dixie and Lea in regards to the sex trafficking case. What happened to Dumpster Ho? Was she released? I mostly like where the show is but I'm a bit disappointed that we haven't seen the other victims who were rescued. Shouldn't they at least have had an doctor's exam? A checkup? This could've required an all hands on deck scenario with this new doctor, Cara and Griffin examining patients.

I wouldn't put a romance with Griffin with either Cass or Lea but I would at least have some interaction between them. Perhaps when Cass comes out of her withdrawal we'll get such a scene. I had even imagined that Cass, with all she's been through might request a female Doctor and Cara will be assigned to her. I did imagine Griffin, at first, though being the one assigned to her care. I guess this new doctor is supposed to mix it up with Dixie but I wish these scenarios would happen in a more organic way.

    • Today's episode was pretty lousy -- definitely the worst in a while. -- Ashley is awful beyond words. I hope Derek dumps her basic ass. Scratches on the fridge? First of all, can someone in production put te refrigerator hinges on the right side??? The door doesn't even open into the kitchen area.      Second, if you're going to make a BIG FCKING DEAL out of a scratch, then show the damn scratch. They didn't, and it was stupid. Also, the lack of product placement WHEN DEREK WAS CLEANING made no sense. Is he too dumb to use P&G products? -- Ashley's treatment of Derek is despicable. If a guy treated a woman this way, this board would be screaming abuse. She acted like a spoiled brat, and I have NEVER gotten the idea that she loves Derek. -- And then Ashley -- the new super nurse -- calls off work because she had a meltdown over a scratch and a leftover??? And goes to a bar??? Jesus. What terrible writing. -- For me, Ben Gavin (Derek) was MUCH better today than Jen Jacob (Ashley). -- Also bad...Cady McClain. I don't know what she's doing, but she needs to stop it. She's terrible in this role, and BTG should get rid of that character. She doesn't work. -- Vanessa has been turned into a complete slut. Messing with Diego? OK. But now they're writing her like she can't keep her legs closed.     And then she talks with Doug, acts like they've figured things out, then walks away without asking Doug WHAT he's hididng from her. -- Dani and Andre look good in bed, but let's move on, OK? Just seeing those two have hot sex isn't enough. I don't think Dani's reason for not going public with him make any sense, either. More bad writing. -- Today we got a discussion of Tomas' tattoos. You mean Kat has never seen the guy's arms before? Huh? More bad writing. -- Also, I still can't believe Alex Alegria (Tomas) has been acting for well over a decade. Jesus. -- Why would Ted give Eva a photo of herself for her birthday? WTF was that? -- Dana and Jacob were decent. Those were the only scenes that made sense. Last week was great, but we're off to a really slow start this week.
    • This episode was not it! Derek really cleaned a stainless steel fridge with a scouring pad? Is this grown ass man an idiot? You can't tell me he wouldnt realize this is a bad idea considering he just talked about taking good care of his car. I'm sure he'd know not to take a scouring pad to the exterior of his car and why.  Ashley's annoyance was fine, but she took it to an extreme that was unnecessary and made her even more annoying and intolerable. Derek even went out of his way to offer to replace it and then made the effort to buff out the scratches. She really is unlikable...also, where did yall say you've seen her before and that she was good...because today's performance was giving mid.  "I'm a boy scout...I follow every lead..." Excuse me, Jacob. Why couldn't he just say he's thorough. It was an odd thing to say. Even figuratively, I wouldn't think of using that term in this instance. Diego, a model? I'm sorry, but let's be reasonable here.  Another weird moment was Tomas guilting Kat for choosing to put her half-sister in jail over dinner with him. We can all agree that Kat was gunning for Eva since day one and doing too much, but the girl actually thinks and has incriminating audio that Eva may have tried to kill someone and boy is being a pick me. I can't.  There was another really strange moment early on that I completely just blanked on. I think this has been my least favorite episode since the premiere. The good: Pamela and Dani showing off their friendship was cute. As much as I hate that casino, their moments together were nice.
    • Shemar Moore's SWAT show is back from the dead again, sort of. https://people.com/swat-scores-all-new-spinoff-starring-shemar-moore-days-after-series-finale-11737408
    • Oh lawd Steffy invited that bland b*tch back to Forrester. Thankfully she said all isn't forgiven and her flop line isn't returning.  Liam was so annoying toyda like a kid in a car asking over and over "are we there yet?"
