B&B:

Zack Hamilton, Taylor's brother. Has he even been mentioned since he left?

After Taylor gave birth to Thomas in 1998 he was mentined and again when she came back from the dead in 2005... But apart from that: truly forgotten.

Does anyone remember what finally made Gloria leave Pine Valley? I recall the scene with Stuart walking her out of Myrtle's house, and I know it had something to do with Dimitri and Maddie, but I'm blanking on the specifics.

Dimitri married her in order to have a mother for Maddie in his custody fight against Edmund. He did care about her, but when she found out the truth, she divorced him. She also had a pregnancy scare which was likely cut short because of Teresa Blake deciding to leave. After the divorce, she got a job offer in California, and accepted it.

Since others haved posted their Julia Barrett love, I will say I never understood why they never brought her back permantently in the mid 90's. She was literally the only good thing about Brenda's breakdown story in 1997. Aside from her ties to Brenda she had ties to Aj, Ned, TG (as Bill) not to mention Lucy and the Q's. Since Brenda was so prominent on the canvas, I found it strange they never brought back her only living (at the time) relative. Julia would have been perfect as Brenda's disapproving sister and would perhaps stop her from some of the ridiculous things she did while mixing it up with Ned and Lois. She would have been better than Katherine (with more rooting value) in the Ned/Lois/Kathy Bell drama.

I liked V a lot as well. She obviously was meant for Jax, but that was pushed aside when VM re-signed at the eleventh hour and MB didn't. She stayed on the show for a while after with no real purpose, but it was clear she was a charming actress. I think she could have taken the place of Chloe easily in the mixed married story. Although there was nothing terribly objectionable about Chloe, V always seemed to have more depth.

Hadn't Crystal Carson made the decision to bow out of acting by then? As much as I'd have loved to have seen the issues unfold and eventually come to a head between the two sisters (as opposed to her simply visiting my girl and returning for her funeral), I can't see how that would've worked if she hadn't wanted to reprise that role long-term. I'm just glad that they'd gotten closure before Brenda's "death", period.

the character could have been easily recast and should have been. I could see someone like Rebecca Staab playing her

I believe she gave up acting later. From what I recall, she was actually going to come back long term in 97/98, but it was scrapped to get money for KMc's return. I think she was open to returning in the 90's.

I'll be honest - I wouldn't have accepted a Julia recast in the same way that I wasn't able to accept the Lois recast.
