I'm not sure what's problematic with KA being on top (via default of her last name starting with an A), since she shared the same episode count with RH, FH, TR, and DZ.

Furthermore, I'm glad that someone posted the yearly episode count, as it proves how baseless the 'OLTLers takeover' truly was.

Just the episode count doesn't tell the whole story though. Two characters can have the same amount of episodes, but whereas one of them has five minutes of screentime and one line per episode, the other can be on screen more than half the episode, and when he/she is off-screen everything still revolves around his/her character.

I'm not saying that's the case here, I'm just saying that simply going by episode count isn't enough.

You have to include todays episode in totals if you want an accurate list since the show was delayed one day due to 'connecticut massacre.

Pretty much, but these folks would never admit that that they - as opposed to those who didn't mind/were for the OLTL crossover - were the ones that overhyped it to high heaven.

I have to disagree, as I've found that it is a great indicator of who the airtime hogs are on this show. Although MB was backburnered significantly in the last months of last year, I think that it is telling that he has clocked in the top 5 of the GH episode count since 1994 (barring his failed attempt to parlay his daytime success into primetime in 1997-1998). Even DZ's high post count (of which I hadn't minded, as I do like Dante 85% of the time) in 2010-2011 was reflected in the many storylines that he was shoehorned in to justify it.

At the end of the day, although 2012 doesn't reflect how balanced GH was in its prime, I do appreciate the fact that the vets - especially Finola Hughes - got more airtime in the last six months than they would've ever gotten in the previous regime. I hope that seeing the likes of Anna, Robert, Mac, Felicia, Duke, Luke, Faison, Lucy, Tracy, and Monica clock in the top 10 is something that Cartini will follow through on in 2013.
