HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Khan will fight me to the death, though laugh.png .

No, he won't! If anything, he will stand and cheer loudly for you and wish you only the best! Same goes for everyone else here! :)

+1 I think she will, in the words of Shirley Caesar, be "sweeping through the city" to restore a sense of integrity and sophistication at OLTL. She was largely responsible for my favorite era of the show. She remains close with Erika Slezak and she was instrumental with the DID s/l so I'm hoping she'll revive and restore Viki and Dorian's dynamic relationship. Dorian really crumbled into a kooky mess and I hope Robin Strasser is a part of this project and we get to see that wonderful mid-'90s version of the character again. If anyone can fix the mess and loose ends of Victor's murder, if they ever decide to go there, it's someone like SBH. She has a true affection and respect for the show and counts her time there as the highlight of her career. I think PP has made a very wise choice. I realize that lighting can't strike in the same place twice, but better to launch this venture with someone who has the relationship she has with the show.

No Strasser or Slezak. Just Jerry ver Dorn doing a one woman show!

You drove her away with all your damn Nene gifs.

I don't know what to make of Marlene McPherson as I've never watched DOOL regularly. How would you DOOL fans characterize her style?

Repetitively boring.

A boring no idea mess of a show.

Meanwhile, I am so over the moon to hear that Susan Bedsow Horgan and Thom Racina have been named Co-HW's at OLTL 2.0. I respect both writers immensely, and know that with Agnes also on-board as consultant, the reboot will be in great hands.

(Damn, if only I could get on that writing staff.)

Totally unrelated, but I miss you Marceline! I feel like we never talk anymore.

You walked away from me! Not the other way around. You left me here alone! But now you miss me? Don't come at me know like you give a damn. No! Just....no.

I can't believe that boring ass trick will be writing AMC! I'd rather have MMT back

That seems to be the pattern in soapland.

Yeah it will be totally different soap from what Cartini did.

and that truly was the problem. It wasnt necesarily bad but that mess was boring as hell. NOTHING happened. You'd see characters talking but there was barely any story there. On the surface her plots could have been good but they amounted to skeletons with no meat to it. There was no substance and she'd introduce things without following through. Overall her Days was just a waste of time. It was incredibly uneventful

I think she had some very good ideas that were implemented very badly. She maintains that was a result of network interference.

I agree with the assessment that Marlene McPherson's stories on Days were boring and usually never lead anywhere. And she even had a dead character (Alice Horton) behaving out of character. When she was fired, she claimed that the network interfered and wouldn't let her and Darrell Thomas tell their stories.

Well it wasn't just ALL Marlene's writing on DAYS, she was working with Darrell Ray Thomas too so he had a hand in penning the Z's. Marlene could be a very different writer w/out him by her side..
