If a man wants to have sex with a woman and she says "No" and he doesn't stop and at no point does she change her mind then it's rape. The reasons for her saying "No" are irrelevant and even if she said "No, not right now because my husband or my boyfriend is on his way," and he still proceeded then it's rape. "No" isn't a word that comes with a whole set of possibilities, it's a negative response.

Now, I totally get that the visuals are different and gang rape sounds infinitely worse than a single rape but at the end there is still a a rape victim.

Date or acquaintance rape is supposed to bring about the understanding that a person can be raped by someone he or she knows but I wonder if people don't brush it off as less severe. The fact that a victim may know the rapistt does not reduce the impact of the rape itself and probably increases the mental dvestation and adversely affects the ability to trust even the familiar.

Qualifying rape makes no sense to me if the end result is still rape. A person who is stabbed to death a hundred times dies in a more heinous and disturbing way than a person who dies after one bullet to the brain, but they were both killed and they are both dead so are we really going to say because one was less gruesome or traumatic that one wasn't much of a murder? So that one with the shot to the head isn't a murder victim as much or in the same way as the one who was stabbed multiple times.

Fictional characters and emotional moral issues. This is how society gets conidtioned into dismissing a whole lot of violence--especially against women. She asked for it, she wanted it even if she said she didn't, she wanted it before. Look how easy our scoiety makes it for wealthy men to be serial rapists.

On soaps though, it;s not about the criminal past or present of characters since all of that can be glossed over as long as you can generate a warm and fuzzy feeling by putting one of those criminals with the right romantic partner. They can make a serial killer sympathetic if he's cute and genrates heat withe whomever.

ITA to eveything you said and it's the complate opposite with women who will be villified for a lesser offense. On a soap a man can be a rapist and there will be a did he or didn't he debate or calls to redeeem him because he's no worse than the other men in town. However a woman does soemthing as small as cheating and it's the biggest crime known to man, she's a horrible whore who needs to be off the screen.

I want to watch that, any idea what the name of the clip is on YT

How the [!@#$%^&*] does one embed?!

Here's a good scene:

Heck, this person's entire channel is worth a look:

About yesterday's scenes: I loved them. I loved how Anna cuffed him, how Anna looked when she told him Robin was dead, when he repeated the words he'd told her when they were first married, the hug at the end. This was a true supercouple back in the day.

And then that tired old wannabe Luke walked in and I thought "Uh oh. Duke is going to be thrown under the Luke bus." The whole thing with him keeping Robin from Anna -- unconscionable. He's already being set up as the bad guy. It's so dispiriting. I will keep watching, hoping against hope that this will actually be a SL that works all the beats. But if Anna cannot forgive Luke for lying to Robert about Greasy Ethan, what chance does Duke stand?

I keep thinking back to a DC podcast where Larry Flick sighed "I can't watch that old queen Luke mount my Anna." That's kind of how I feel here.

F---k Luke and Duke. Bring back Robert

I loved them too but for me Robert & Holly were THE couple. And Duke wasn't torn about his feelings for Anna, unlike Robert.

But that's old news and a moot point. GH is not that show anymore, and it hasn't been for a long, long time. I just don't want incumbant HWs to start rewriting history and ruining something which I actually enjoyed back then, lol.

Or killed, thrown in jail...you name it. But so many women seem to hate other women that much.

Even in real life when a man does something wrong the woman gets blamed. Maybe this isn't the best example but look how many young girls and women make excuses for and feel soory for "poor put upon Chris Brown."

In the wee hours of the morning I turned the word "devastation" into "dvestation" along with my usual typos.

I know someone who played a hospital extra on GH back in the Scorpio days. Robert and Holly were the couple but hasn't all of that already been wrecked by substandard writing on previous returns?

*Snerk* That sounds like the names of two racehorses: Old Queen Luke and Mount My Anna.

Coming round the turn we have Old Queen Luke followed by a nose by Mount My Anna. Old Queen Luke and Mount My Anna neck and neck...

ITA with you. For me, it was Robert & Holly and Duke & Anna. They were the supercouples. They both were the #1 couple when GH was #1. They both were heavenly. I loved the Duke & Anna flashbacks yesterday. So nice.

I think the writers could fix it - if they want to. The question is do they? My best guess is that we'll know by the 50th Anniversary.

Good grief, Charlie Brown! As much as you all rag on Monica and Bobbie for their fuckked up faces, you need to go in extra hard on this one for looking like:

I'm with you, VH. I was not liking what I saw yesterday. The man almost looks sick, and he could use a pound or 10!

When I read folks saying that he still looked good online yesterday, I wanted to know what show they were watching because he looks terrible in the video clips that I saw (especially when I compare him to how he looked in his PC days).

Is there any GH dude over 50 - besides TR - that has actually aged well? Between IB looking Asian and TG looking like the crypt-keeper, I just don't know...wacko.png

A Duke/Anna/Robert/Holly quadrangle is the stuff soap dreams are made of.

Anna: My God, Duke, what have you been doing for the last twenty years?

Duke: I've been telling THOSE DAMN KIDS TO STAY OFF MY LAWN!!!!
