OMG, I have just started tuning back into GH again because of Anna & Duke -- is the reunion good?! I am so fearful that TPTB want to throw him under the bus for the "love story" that is Anna & Luke.

The reunion is awesome!!!!! The flashbacks are killing me, I'm going to have to go to YT for some more DnA clips. This site has some great stuff too annaandduke.com

That's my concern with this storyline, too. But at least they're showing the history between them and the acting is great.

Most of the romantic leading men Carlivati caters to are rapists. If Robert Scorpio giddily abandoned his daughter's corpse in order to push Anna/Luke, why would Duke (who hasn't even been around since 1990) be any different?

When was the last time KeMo even looked like she gave a damn? She enjoys that steady paycheck. She put more effort in Filthy Soap, which didn't find an audience, than she has on GH in years. The eppy where Alexis almost died, Sam was just cruising with her hands in her pockets hugging her sisters on cue. Too many people looking for work for the audience who has to deal with someone who obviously doesn't give a damn.

Thanks! YT has some cool ones but not a whole lot -- YT has the scene where Anna presides over the meeting about how to redevelop the docks and Duke comes in to charm the pants off of everybody... not a particular romantic scene per se, but it certainly showed their insane chemistry and spark.

I just loved how each kept their independent spirit even after they got together.

I said in the UO thread that I think Todd Manning was one of the most destructive things to happen to OLTL and to the genre. It's taken years of hindsight to come to this conclusion but I think trying to make Todd Manning a romantic figure was poison to OLTL and that poison seeped to other shows in the form of making redeeming rapists a much more acceptable option. After the rape he should've either been written out and never revisited, been written as a villain or his counseling and subsequent rehabilitation should've been made to stick. But no matter what progress he makes, it always ends up erased by some increasingly ugly act. (Yes, I'm including TSJ's Todd in this because nobody is going to get me to buy into ReRon's Retcon Rendezvous. Not now. Not ever.)

WTH? Luke told Robert the truth with Holly off screen? Im guessing TR wouldnt return to resolve this but still seems so odd how this was all handled

Lulu looks AMAZING today. The best she's looked in a while. Her tan is great as was her hair and her face looks good as well

I cant get over his devil eyebrows. Man do this point north. His face is very distracting to look at

That’s nice. MVJ was one of the very few scriptwriters that Geary respected. She wrote the rape confession monologue that Luke had with Lucky and it was one of the rare times that Geary didn’t change a word and acted out what was on the page.

This is sad, and I will choose to remember Geary for the electrifying performer he could be instead of what he purposely turned Luke into in his latter years on the show.
That said, and I know he was getting older, but he did often look quite frail whenever I saw recent pics of him with his husband. Whatever it was, I hope he went peacefully.

RIP: In Memoriam Thread

Well this is turning out to be quite the banner week. First the voice of Sheen from Jimmy Neutron dies along with the voice of Doug Dimmedome from "Fairly Oddparents" and now Rob Reiner and Anthony Geary. People cheering over Rob Reiner dying are so horribly disgusting it pisses me off. And I really hope that whoever killed Rob and his wife gets the maximum penalty possible.

My God. To turn on my desktop and read that Rob Reiner (and his wife) and Tony Geary have both passed away. It's just so much to take in on a Monday morning that I'm struggling to find the right words. I pray for peace for all their loved ones, and for all of us who have enjoyed their work over the years.

“I look over and I see this girl, and ‘Whoo!’ I was attracted immediately,” he told The New York Times in 1989, recalling the pair’s meeting.
A few months later, the photographer and director married — and their relationship inspired Mr. Reiner to change the ending of his most famous movie. “Originally, Harry and Sally didn’t get together,” he told the Guardian in 2018. “But then I met Michele and I thought: ‘OK, I see how this works.’” Harry and Sally had to marry each other, too.

I think my own disconnect is that while Tony could seem frail in recent years, Luke never was. Which reminded me of an interview before he retired where Geary admitted to being on set waiting to film and he told Jane that he was so bored. And she told him don’t worry, Luke isn’t. Which is probably one of the few insightful notes he got in later years as an actor.
I had that same disconnect with Jackie Zeman when she passed. Both she and Bobbie always had a vitality to them. Bobbie’s early dichotomies being both bubbly and shrewd, hopeful and cynical. Hard to believe they are both gone.

Omg that's a shocker. What a beautiful and thorough article in the Hollywood Reporter. So many details I never knew.

Story wise I'd like it if we learned Luke really died saving women from being trafficked after faking his death on the train in 2022, taking over Bobbie's work. a sort of redemption for what Luke was.
