They are not blood cousins they are cousins via marriage.

After the way she was unceremoniously written off 15 years ago, that's the least that they can do.

How was she written off?

They had her leave to take care of some unseen sick aunt in Philly with the (unfulfilled) promise to come back to AJ if he'd gotten his ish together.

Maya pretty much got the same exit with added sex in the end. There has to be a rule book for black characters in Daytime because some of this crap is done so effortlessly. There has to be a rule book.

I thought she went off to law school? Or maybe that was Gia.

I miss Gia (Marissa Ramirez version ONLY). I wouldn't mind seeing her again.

I know Marissa's not African American, but she played one better than Christel Khalil...

That doesn't say much. Sarah Palin could play AA better than CK!

I guess that I should be grateful that Keesha got a limp exit over the trifling one that her cousin Maya got. Hell, I'm surprised Lainey didn't go out that way.

OT: Did they announce a recast for Valley Girl Lily yet? To say that I am thrilled that her non-acting ass is gone is an understatement, though the only way that I'll ever return to Y&R is if my Vicky returns in all her glory.

The only woman Nikolas has ever loved as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, they have; and do you know, I think they're onto something with this one?

I realize this might be jumping the gun a bit, but I think she'll work out way better than CK. smile.png

You got that right. Still can't stand how she was cast aside for NL's Emily - even if she was terribly recast.

Oops.

Distant cousins are not usually related by blood. There usually someone's cousin's uncle's sister's husband's nephew.

Anyone know what Senait Ashenafi is doing. I haven't been following her career closely but it can't be much since she's been out of the spotlight for years. Considering she's black and over forty for sure Cartini will recast the character with someone younger.
