UPDATE: Ingle’s final GH appearance, on Sept. 11, came at the actor’s request to play Edward one last time, ABC notes. With a simple “I love you, too,” a thumbs up and a smile, he and we bid adieu to Edward.

I remember reading an interview with Mr. Ingle years ago where he talked about how he and David Lewis were actually old friends and they spoke on the phone when he replaced him. He also mentioned how Anna Lee lovingly referred to him as her Edward, II.
