I admire it when people go to bat for their co-workers, but in these instances, does anyone think an actor would really walk?

If your boss is Paul Rauch, you might not have a choice. He'll just shove you out the window (or under the bus, or in front of a train) first chance he gets.

Why walk when they can punch co-workers & get away with it?

Y&R actors in particular have developed this bad habit of tanking stories, either through word of mouth, deliberately mediocre performances, or a combination of the two. And frankly...? That [!@#$%^&*]'s gotten old. It's one thing if you don't like the material, or the actors you're forced to perform with. But if these individuals, Black AND White, tried such tactics in a "normal" business environment, they'd be threatened with dismissals, if not outright handed their pink slips.

My advice to Y&R and all other soap actors: we know the material's [!@#$%^&*] and the co-workers are less than agreeable, but just STFU and do your job, okay? Because all this noise doesn't make what we see on-screen everyday any more tolerable.

This who's crazy/who's not crazy business is a waste of time, they are actors, they are ALL f^cking crazy. Some a little crazier than others.

An observation, however. Whether it's Eric, Victoria, now Melody, or whoever... it seems like "crazy" gets thrown out when an actor goes on record speaking passionately about an issue that directly effects them. For Eric, Victoria, Melody, whoever, it's their jobs, it's their characters, it's their storylines. Victoria and others have the added issue of racial inequality. They all come across as egotistical and eccentric at times, but are folks too often confusing "crazy" with actors (who are first and foremost human beings) looking out for their own art, business, integrity, worth?

You know, I miss the days when all we had were glossy soap mags, not Twitter, and Facebook, and God knows everything else. Sure, most of the articles contained therein were puff pieces, but aside from the occasional scandal, like Jacqueline Courtney and George Reinholt's dismissals from ANOTHER WORLD, we all were kept out of the proverbial loop and allowed only to enjoy the shows themselves.

I'm not sure who the troll is. Anytime someone doesn't agree with a post you make a comment they're a troll. Good to know. Not like anyone can have a different opinion right.

If you read the board you'd know Miller isn't a favorite here.

On that I'm done.

+1.

Not Braeden or Bergman or Morrow or Cooper or Walton or MTS.

They weren't expected to not speak to the press or not to gripe about the writing.

In fact they were applauded during various regimes & said (in Braeden, MTS, Walton, Bergman & Cooper's cases) to be indispensible.

Muhney's fought with fans on several messageboards but nobody called him crazy.

The most he's been called (like Miller & Elizabeth Hendrickson) is overrated.

But Victoria Rowell has been labelled "crazy," because while she's done the same as her colleagues, if not less, she has the "unfortunate" distinction of being African-American.

Do I have it right, DeeeDee? I seriously need to know and understand this issue.

If Kristoff were to hit Billy Miller after a scene tomorrow NO ONE (especially on this board) would be defending him.

Don't know about Miller but if he punched Braeden I'd become his No. 1 fan.

Khan, I could not agree more! I remember the good old days of monthly magazines - Daytime TV, Soap Opera Digest, Daytimers, Afternoon TV, etc. Yes, they may have whitewashed backstage drama, but they also allowed us to be spoiler free because they were always reporting stuff after the fact, and not before it happened or as it happened. As much as I enjoyed (and bought) Soap Opera Weekly and Soap Opera Digest on a weekly basis, I really think they (along with the internet) have played a HUGE role in destroying the soap genre. Why tune in tomorrow when you already know what's going to happen?

One example from the old days I can remember off the top of my head is when good ol' Heather Webber spiked Diana Taylor's iced tea on GH and went crazy. Heather was carted off to Pine Circle Sanitarium. Now, I loved the Heather Webber story, and I had no idea that Mary O'Brien was leaving the show. The whole climax of that story was a surprise to me and the only way I knew that O'Brien was gone for good and not on a vacation while Heather cooled her heels at Pine Circle, was to watch the end credits. When she was finally taken off them I knew Heather and Mary were gone. sad.png A month later, Daytime TV confirmed her exit in their "comings and goings" section. But even though I was surprised and disappointed, I am glad I had no inkling of how that story was going to play out.

As far as this Braeden/Case situation is concerned, it's too bad that a lot of people will be watching their upcoming scenes and thinking, "Ooooh! I wonder if this scene was taped after that twitter war!" It takes us out of the moment and soaps are supposed to envelop us in the moment.

Crazy Braeden should punch her.

I disagree. Primetime and cable has to deal with spoilers and the internet and they somehow manage to not only stay healthy but they actually leverage those things to increase fan connection and interest. Personally, I have no interest in returning to the days of glossy overpriced magazines filled with puff pieces and press releases. That said, I don't care what you call it: unprofessional, infantile , narcissistic, unaware or yes just plain old bat crap crazy, the people at Y&R need to calm down, grow the hell up and stop talking about each other. I have no problem if an actor wants to trash their story/writing/show. They're have every right to their opinion. But the rest of middle school stuff needs to stop.
