I know NBC is getting ripped for their coverage but I don't think it would make any difference if any of the other networks covered it. I pretty much understand ESPN ripping it because they're "The Worldwide Leader," but considering that I only find a small number of their on air talent tolerable, I doubt I would enjoy what they'd do any better. They're even worse than NBC has been in terms of focusing on specific individuals.

Could NBC do better? Yes. I just don't happen to care as much about finding out results ahead of time. If there is something I want to see then knowing the results usually won't matter to me.

What does is that they denied me the opportunity to see the 7/7 tribute and hear Emeli Sandé sing. I would have traded Dizee Rascal and The Arctic Monkeys given a choice but why take anything out for another round of Michael Phelps? I don't think he's the best Olympian ever. I don't know if I'd bestow that title on anyone. He's certainly not the best athlete ever. He's got the most medals ever and maybe they can call him the best Olympian in terms of the events in which he competes. They are completely overlooking the fact that the number of opportunities to win a medal in certain sports are limited. Swimming is loaded with chances including relay events.

One second of Ryan Seacrest is too much for me and my remote comes in handy as soon as his face appears. I did make the mistake of watching him with the gymnasts and I now know that even muting while waiting for the next event is insufficient for me.

Some of the commenting annoys me. I got tired of hearing how Destinee Hooker needs to be more aggressive. I wish tell her this privately or limit the number of times he repeats that line. The woman commenting on diving manages to irritate me for whatever reason. And last but not least is Tim Dagget. I get it....You didn't think Gabby Douglas would do well and Jordyn Wieber was robbed and an injustice was done in the scoring and the rules need to change to accomodate that. I disagree with all of that though. It's a tough break but when you know the rules going in then you work with them. All of those athletes must understand that they only get one chance and it can go as quickly as it came. That's the downside of these competitions. And Al Trautwig talking about all she has had to endure....seriously? When the Russian girls started crying some of the same people whining about Jordyn Wieber probably thought those girls ought to just suck it up. I feel bad for all the girls who didn't fulfill their dreams but there can only be one winner in the end.

It's too bad when the sports media pick out the person they want you to admire because it denies some from getting to make that decision for themselves. Missy Franklin is probably the most interesting of all the athletes NBC hand-pciked for the viewers to love. I am sure there are other great swimmers on the men's team but Michael Phelps is all that matters and for a moment they were poised to fixate on Ryan Lotche.

My only issue with one of my favorite egomaniacs (Dan Patrick being another) is that he needs to step away from that hair dye. Bob Costas would look a whole lot better if he would embrace the grey. Vanity is so unbecoming and it's not as if he's a good looking man either. He needs to let that hair get gradually lighter and ease his way into a little salt and pepper, imo.

I think it's quite imbalanced how there's so much emphasis on Jordyn Wieber, when Gabby Douglas performed in ALL FOUR EVENTS and therefore contributed the most in the women's team winning the gold. Yet, they don't focus on her or her achievements like she's a one-event performer like McKayla Maroney.... who, by the way, I can see why people would question the judging on that INCREDIBLE vault. I mean, it just doesn't get any better than that! There shouldn't have been any deductions whatsoever.

McKayla Maroney should be able to win gold easily on the vault.

I read a blog earlier in which the blogger consistently complains in just about every entry about the amounf of attention that she believes is given to Gabby Douglas. She thought the trials were biased in favor of Gabby Douglas and Jon Orozco and said she couldn't wait for them to be judged by "real judges." Jordyn Wieber competed in three of the four events and if I'm not mistaken, she scored third in all of them....maybe the international judges have it in for her. We all have different ways of seeing things and the bottom line is the team won gold so good for all of them. I'd like to see NBC be less preoccupied with Aly Raisman's parents but they love her mother to pieces.

Wow, NBC finally decided that I can see the volleyball game so I'm off to hear about how Destinee Hooker needs to be more aggressive.....that is unless she's gotten the message and is.
