It seems really stupid to me that they kept playing up how much John loves his family, but he was pretty much casting them aside to ostensibly chase his sister demons -- while really spending all his time rescuing, comforting, or otherwise sniffing up Jason's wife's skirt. John would have looked more like the honorable man he's supposed to be if they'd explained things just didn't work out for Jolie, they parted amicably, and they're coparenting Liam. Now he just looks like a lying cheat.
