He's clearly not very confident in his output.

While rabid fanbases can be a bit inane and delusional, he's even dismissing valid concerns from those Tweeps with sound constructive criticism.

He encourages a discourse on Twitter with fans, and then throws a fit when things don't go the way he planned? GMAFB.

This guy is full of sh!t, the sooner he and Valentini are out on their asses, the better.

This. He responses reek of insecurity. It's not his fault for writing bad product, it's the audience's fault for not liking it. ("I don't suck, YOU SUCK for thinking I suck!")

I follow a number of showrunners on Twitter and while I've seen some defend their writing, I can't think of one who's ever just flat out mocked and berated the audience.

I'm interested in how his cult over at DC is going to react to that because they are his biggest apologists & cheerleaders, but are also huge Elizabeth fans.

I love how Jamey Giddens and Luke Kerr haven't made peep when it was revealed that the ratings in the new time-slot weren't that great, as they had been pimping based off of Marc Berman's report.

RC was definitely mocking fans on twotter. Soem weren't even Liz fans. I saw one tweet that asked him why Kristina is being written as clueless while the writing for Trey gives him layers. And his response was Kristina is too hot for layers or some bs like that.

His tweets are so unprofessional but fans find them funny. Yet if actor's tweet like that they get bitched at.

RC needs to step away from the keyboard! In all curiosity though, I wonder how psychotic the legions of Liz fans were on Twitter. This is a fanbase who actually reversed a firing in a New York minute--I haven't seen that on soaps in years! Not that I'm defending RC, he's lost it. Just wondering how craze it got, LOL.

He did the same with the OLTL fans on twitter telling them if they didn't like it the show isn't for them.

One of those merry cunts -- excuse me, I misspoke... One of those miserable cunts, Jillian Bowe, chimed in yesterday with her ass kissing, condescending "these people don't get it's just a soap opera" type nonsense, with RC thanking her, calling her a "voice of reason."

Seriously?

I found the tweet I was talking about. This one wasn't even about Liz. This was just him straight mocking a fan

@carlivatiron Hey Ron why are you writing Kristina as so clueless while nobody character Trey gets layers?

@LiaLore1 Trey gets cold easily so he needs layers. Kristina is too hot for that.

I explain the difference of Liz's past actions and switching a paternity. I asked Ron to just admit he's stalling for time.

Stupid hack!

Good luck with that, An! LOL!

Oh! I forgot this gem from yesterday:

seriouslyRCC.jpg

Because, after all, a 15 year old school girl getting a boy to pose as her boyfriend to make another boy jealous is EXACTLY the same as a 30 year old health care professional and mother of 2 changing another woman's baby's DNA test results to get a man.

Poor Agnes looks senile and as if she's being held at gunpoint to take that pic with Carlivati...

I prefer to think that she looks drunk and doesn't care who she's in the picture with.

It's quite amusing to see that Ron not only does not give care about the GH stans' entitlement issues, but clearly relishes trolling the sh!t out of them.

Hell, I'll just be frank - I love him so much more now because it's clear that he's realizing (if he hasn't already) that they are full of sh!t and would find twenty-eleven reasons to whine even if he were following the Guza Workout Plan to a tee.

Wow. He's really going to town. If anybody ever doubted that Carlivati has no respect for the audience, he's put those doubts to rest.

This is why I refute the assertion that the internet ruined soaps. Other showrunners use the internet to engage fans, he's just having a tantrum and being a dick.

Not to mention that some writers were capable of angering fans and making matters worse long before the Internet (take a bow, Irna). The idea of FANS KNOW TOO MUCH! and all the rest only works if you assume viewers become uncontrollable monsters once they learn basic details.

Any respect Ron Carlivati had for the genre or even for the basic concept of writing died a long time ago. He is just an attention whore. He writes based on pushing the buttons of fans or getting accolades from Branco and DC. Nothing else.
