Y&R: Blast from Giggly Heffa's Past Returns

We smell big trouble ahead for THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS' Phyllis! TV Guide is reporting that Aaron Lustig is returning to the soap as Dr. Tim Reid, her marriage counsellor-turned-bed partner whom she blackmailed with a sex tape back in the '90s. Dr. Reid returns to the scene when the Genoa City P.D. reopens the cold case file from when Phyllis attempted to kill Christine in a hit-and-run. Ricky will reportedly track down the psychiatrist during his investigation of Phyllis' sordid past.

Lustig was last seen on Y&R in 1997, but played Dr. Reid on sister soap THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL for a stint in 2002. Since his soap days, the actor/director has been quite busy working in feature films like The Rum Diary, Due Date, and the new romantic comedy The Five-Year Engagement, as well as TV shows like BOSTON LEGAL, NCIS, CHUCK and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, where he had a multi-episode arc last year as Susan's transplant coordinator. According to TV Guide, Lustig reports to the Y&R studio this week for what is currently set as a six-episode run that will begin airing on Wednesday, May 30.

I didn't think they'd ever revisit the hit and run, it seemed to be forgotten. It could be interesting, but I'm not holding out that the writers can write a good story.

I'm TEMPTED to watch this! Dr. Reid & Phyllis were a hoot back in the day. And the slightest sight for payback for b*tch is must-see.

BTW: too bad CBS SiD cannot get their facts straight. How difficult is that!? Aaron Lustig was on B&B in spring 2001 and not 2002.

MAB *loves* to revisit old history just for the sake of it. And she bombs every single time. I'm still amazed at how she mangled Nina's son being taken away, only to return as worthless sociopath Ronan, played by Jeff "when is it pilot season already??" Branson.

In the words of Stewie Griffin remarking about Kermit the Frog: "What's his appeal?" Never understood why he's been on 3 soaps and won 1 Emmy.

I hope this stroll down memory lane = flashbacks. And flashbacks as they normally aired, not stretched out or zoomed in, like the other shows do for pre-HDTV flashbacks.

MAB loves to do it because she cannot, for the life of her, come up with any good ideas on her own... therefore, she always has to go back to all the brilliantly set-up, pre-existing storylines, in order to have something to do. But, indeed, she bombs every single f*cking time.

They did the flashbacks good on the epi entitled The Eva Longoria Flashback epi

So will there be a whole line up of Danny/Cricket flashbacks (since MD and LLB are returning) or did they already do that when they were last seen together on screen in 2003-2004?

Giggly will go to jail (for a month) for attempted murder, Daniel will die/leave town, Lauren will kill Daisy who tries to take Lucy, Michael will cheat with Avery, everyone will go back to propping Giggly after a month.

Daisy will fake her death or just be seriously wounded (for about two minutes).

Talk about a blast from the past. If I thought for a second that this meant Phyllis would go to prison, I would watch.

I still say they'll come up with some lame twist that reveals Phyllis wasn't the one who mowed down Cricket and Paul with her car. :(
