Not to be devil's advocate here but ABC can still cancel GH at any time. Since it's network-owned they could end production tomorrow if they wanted. "Renew" and "cancel" are technically not correct terms to use for the ABC soaps.

I'm so glad GH has been renewed but I'm not looking forward to watching more of Ron & Frank's poorly written and (especially) produced take on the show. They are beyond awful and I'm so annoyed that they are being credited for the shows renewal; A complete joke IMO!

We will certainly agree to disagree here because although GH had its challenges under Guza and Wolf, it wasn't the 3rd rate reality show wannabe that OL became. I could not watch that crap to save my life. I was not sorry when the show was axed because of the two losers at the helm. Now, if I choose to watch again, I have to deal with a team I did my best to avoid? Not sure why I would have to go thru this because I pay my taxes.

As for OLTL being third rate? That's rich, considering that Guza succeeded at turning GH into a quarter-water version of The Sopranos.

I doubt Cartini had much of anything to do with the reprieve. There is loud rumbling coming from the unhappy ABC affiliates because of the network's decisions about daytime. The Revolution has been thrown into the volcano to satisfy the affiliate gods for now.

TVGuide.com had the headline on the main page with a picture of ... Michael Easton. Easton, the most junior contract cast member on air. I guess there is no longer any doubt who ABC Daytime's PR department will be pimping.

No contract? That means they could go off anytime. Yikes. I think this is mostly just padding until Katie is on the air. They are also likely assuming a "lighter GMA" (what does that mean? Is GMA now Bleak House?) will be a hit for them.

It has always been that way though, at least as long as ABC has owned the show. Since they produce the show and all the cast & crew are ABC employees there is no need for a contract between ABC and the show itself.

I don't mind the ME photo. At least they're honest, and he has been popular in his appearances so far (although not in ratings). I'd rather see that than PodAnna, the woman who shuns her granddaughter to spend time with a child killer.
