So they are killing Lexie :( She's been terribly wasted so Im not surprised, but it sucks they havent fully utilized her in ages

Just wow. One of the few AA characters on this show. I love Renee and Lexie but I admire her for what, she's doing and her perspective on life. Good for her and best of luck to her. She's most definitely a class act.

Very sad but not surprised. Renee's interviews the past few years have showed that she was enjoying having no storyline.

I'm glad she's excited for her freedom, and also glad the show is giving her a proper goodbye.

I'm really sad to see Renee go and Lexie dying. But in interviews for the last 2 years or so Renee has said several times that she enjoys her time off and she just doesn't have the same passion for acting anymore. I applaud her decision. Soaps are filled with actors who look bored and tired year after year and just go in for the paychecks.

I'm glad Renee had some say in Lexie's exit but I don't trust MarDar at all. We better get Stefano involved. Sucks that Tanya Boyd couldn't come back for this.

Renee is one of the most underrated and underappreciated actresses in all of Daytime. I will miss her.

She sound like she will be doing cartwheels out the door. Good for her. However this makes me sad...

Acting now feels like a chore and I need a break — maybe for a good long time, maybe forever.

I hate seeing her lose the love of the craft. Obviously soap acting isn't what she wants but I hope she finds her way to doing the occasional theatre or guest TV gig.

Good for her! Not many actors are smart enough to save their money. Sounds like she knows the kind of life she would like to lead, and she's leaving in a way that's respectful to the show and fans. Looks like it'll be a touching exit, at least. Good luck, Renee!

I completely understand her and I wish her well in her future doing whatever she wants to be happy.

TV Guide Magazine: Actresses don't quit show biz. Show biz quits them!

Jones: Like they say, life is not a dress rehearsal! I am so excited about this decision. It's been on my mind for over a year. I am so grateful to Days for 20 years of steady employment — it's been a fantastic opportunity — but I finally had to stop and ask myself, "What really makes me happy? What really brings me joy in life?" And it's not acting. I just don't want to do this anymore. I was raised on a farm in Georgia and I want to get back to that silence, that solitude. I want to spend all day enjoying nature, experiencing God. Every so often production at Days will go dark for a couple of weeks and I feel relived. I feel free. I'm like, "Wow, there's a whole other world out there!" Acting now feels like a chore and I need a break — maybe for a good long time, maybe forever.

LOL! She acts like she was actually working/on-screen constantly.

At least she's leaving on her own terms, and really, that's all that matters. Best of luck to her.

They said, "We will do something that guarantees it." And they did. I can't tell you what it is, but it is definitely the end for Lexie.

Honey, on AMC they donated Jesse Hubbard's organs and he still came back.

Did they not know about this until recently? They were setting up a story about Lexie being estranged from Abe and working with EJ. That was very abruptly ended.

If they knew about her thinking of leaving I wonder why they started that story.

Please. After the stupid island, NOBODY dies on DAYS. Death is the ultimate soap cliche on DAYS. I'll be skipping this story, since we know it will be undone in a couple of years either with the big return or recast. On side note, wish RJ best of luck.

Wow...I will miss RJ. She's a great actress, and I know that she will be amazing as Lexie comes closer and closer to death. It sucks that we are losing her, but I know that she and James will more than bring it in their scenes.

They probably found out her plans to leave mid-story and had to scrap it to start her exit storyline.
