Just watched the HBO doco 'Rock Hudson All That Heaven Allowed' and in addition to Frances Reid popping up in the first few minutes in a scene from 'Seconds' Howard McGillan (ex Greg Y&R) talked about being cast as Rock's son in the miniseries 'Wheels' and how the revelation that Rock was gay and had AIDS kept him in the closet for years.

LOL. Another Leo!!

Please register in order to view this content

Peter Porte is going to have the chance to play an entirely different kind of Leo love story! The actor, who’s no stranger to Hallmark movies, will be headlining their latest fall fare in Notes of Autumn with Ashley Williams, Marcus Rosner and Luke Macfarlane. Williams and Macfarlane play two friends living in very different parts of the world who decide to swap places as autumn settles in to get a little change of scenery.

Williams’ Ellie moves to the country on the outskirts of British Columbia and meets neighbor Sam (played by Rosner), while Macfarlane’s — wait for it — Leo moves to the city and meets Ellie’s friend, Matt, played by Porte.

Friendships soon blossom between the pairs and, it sounds like, something more. “This is,” as executive producer Debbie Gibson puts it, “a special story that celebrates how love can blossom in the most unexpected ways.”  So get ready, because it looks like Porte’s going to be falling for a Leo once again!

So get your pumpkin spiced coffees ready and grab a cozy blanket because Notes of Autumn debuts on Saturday, September 15 at 8 PM! Let’s just hope that this Leo comes with a bit less drama than Days of Our Lives‘!

I thought Luke Macfarlane said he was done with Hallmark movies. I guess at least gets to play gay now, and isn't working with Billy Eichner.

I hope Candace Cameron is stuck on a flight that is playing this movie on a loop for 12 hours.

Thanks. I didn't even know she'd been on GH, then or now. She and Grace Philips interacted for such a short time on OLTL yet they're still good friends now. That's something. I'm glad they talked with her so much about the Daisy Awards and trying to treat soaps with respect (something many in the genre now don't seem to care about).

It's such an odd role, this art thief?/crime boss or whatever. Frank clearly keeps it coming back because of their friendship and her OLTL stardom. To hear tell he's bringing back Patrick Gibbons (little Sam Manning) as that Boy Scout character for the umpteenth time and yet more scenes with Roger Howarth when Gibbons, bless him, was adorable as a tot but is not much of an actor as a teen is a whole other can of worms.

Is Jessica Tuck coming back? This article says its from 2019.

Alexandra Shipp (ex-Marybeth, ¨Days of our Lives¨) was in the ¨Barbie" movie. I know Shipp is better known for other roles, but she appeared on ¨Days¨ during Tomsell´s run as Paige´s friend and talk-to. As I recall, her character wasn´t the biggest fan of J.J., who was in his rebellious stage still. Marybeth wasn´t a well developed role which is a shame because Shipp had more charm than True O´Brien. When Shipp left, I think to do an Aaliyah biopic, her role was replaced by Alisha Boe´s Daphne.

    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.
    • I'm happy to read whatever you provide, @Paul Raven.

    • First, let me say I love reading all of your takes and thoughts. They always provide a different point of view... a breath of fresh air... in this sometimes stuffy topic.

You've inspired me to add my 2 cents about this product placement debacle.  I absolutely HATE the way they are doing product placement in BTG. I really hope this doesn't catch on or evolve into more and more of these moments. It's incredibly off-putting to place them in a highly dramatic moment where we are still on the emotional journey with the character. What is next - Dani spraying the house while having a nervous breakdown? It makes me not want to buy the product they're selling. LOL. That's just me.
    • I always get the vibe that Martin/Smitty have an emotional abusive relationship set up... but I doubt the show will really go there with that element given that Martin is a Dupree (and we can't have the Duprees be portrayed in a negative light), and because it's a gay male relationship.   Even though abuse in the physical or emotional sense is a huge thing in a lot of gay and lesbian relationships. The Ashley/Naomi scene reads off to me for one reason....  Ashley was talking about the new scandal without any sort of mention and/or subtext.. considering she knew both Silk Press Sheila and Eva.  I'm not sure if the writers have forgotten, if Jen Jacobs isn't able to play subtext, or what.   It's just apparent the writers do not know how to write a young white millennial couple.. and perhaps they need to get a younger white script writer to be on staff... or let the actors play around with the lines to make them more natural/realistic.
    • This is as good a time as any to point out that the 90 minute show was, what I like to call  "cockamamie idea" of Fred Silverman, head of NBC Daytime Programming. He did so well at ABC & CBS but not so NBC. We learned this from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay, 2006, can be found on YouTube, audio only. Now, to be clear, Rauch was completely behind it. Only Lemay fought against it & eventually quit over it.
