I try to imagine Max wanting Blair back at Asa's funeral as a desperate attempt for something familiar since Gabrielle and Luna are both gone. Those two wound up being very bad for each other and should never be together romantically again.

In my alternate reality, he'd come back and find out Gabrielle and Al are alive. Shocking coming from me, isn't it? laugh.png

I wish someone would tell Fiona to crop her hair again. Her hair is too long for a woman her age. I think the bob she was was wearing at the end of her last run made her look so sophisticated (especially the high, Jacqueline Kennedy inspired, swept back bangs). I also did not get all her floating and dancing around. Was Gabrielle a dancer? It was a little too much.

Jessica Tuck and Susan Batten look phenomenal, as if time stood still for them both (with the exception of the heavy eye bags that no one can hide with that much white light reflecting on your face). I know there are not many Luna fans out there, but I loved Susan when she played the subtleties of the Luna role.

Jessica and Erika are just magic together. Their chemistry is so palatable. After all these years, and so many memorable roles of Jessica outside of daytime, I still see her as Megan.

I actually thought it was nice to see Fiona with longer hair again, although I did LOVE her shorter haircut (when it grew out a bit--not the spiky one) from near the end of her last run, too.

Fiona and Gabrielle were ballet dancers at one point--Gabrielle once had a dream where she danced!

Yesterday was a bit of a tough day to be a Gabrielle fan (or maybe more accurately a MAX/Gabrielle fan), but I've been waiting to see her again for eight years. I'll be a fan of hers forever smile.png .

Susan, though...she could have just lost weight, but for some reason she looked to me like she had work done. Maybe her chin? Not sure.

    • Did I ever say that? I actually don't want to, but I have no problem doing so when I feel it's truly warranted. Case in point. I'll be more respectful about how you're involving yourself in these kind of discussions when you consider doing the same. Believe me when I tell you the way you attempt to dress up this attitude has placated no one, and this is not a minority forum opinion. It is easy enough, for example, to simply say that "I think many of us have underrated JFP's skills as a woman producer in an overly misogynistic industry". It's a lot easier than spending paragraph after paragraph amusedly shaking one's head while talking down to the clueless proles of SON about their blinkered, reductive opinions. And yes, I am saying that many of us have spoken up crediting Phelps for the skills she obviously has as a technical whiz and line producer. There's nothing out of turn about acknowledging that many posters know where she excelled. Or talking about where she clearly (for many of us) didn't. You don't have to agree, but you could try listening to someone other than yourself.
    • It’s a recurring tension in Daytime: the willingness to take risks can fuel a show's longevity, but the actresses themselves often bear the long-term consequences of audience backlash.
    • I pray Eva never lets Dana back into her life, because she deserves better. Dana isn't a mother, nor is she a parent.
    • Daphnee's performance very much reminded me of Anna Holbrook's on Another World when Sharlene was dealing with John and Felicia's affair. Angry but well controlled and believable. A good start for an Emmy reel. If there is one thing an evil Black mother is going to do, it is lock you out the house. Eva shouldn't have even bothered to go home.  Leslie calling Martin "Mr. President" was interesting. How much exactly does she know about the family and has someone higher up sent her to cause trouble? Anita's speech to Leslie was dignified like Geraldine Whitney (EON) or Kim Hughes (ATWT) would have gone off on somebody.
    • Thanks for posting this, fascinating read. It's clear how ambivalent Wyndham is about Justine. IMO, it reads like she agrees that the end of the storyline was bad, but reading between the lines I think she thought she was doing good work for the meat of it....which was not the case. As bad as the writing for most of that story was, it was truly made worse by her embarrassing performance. After the story concluded she kept falling back into Justine ticks, when she wasn't phoning he scenes in. Not to play Freud, but was it to tr*ll her critics?
    • I better hear "The Emmy goes to Ambyr Michelle" come Emmy time lol
