The problem with a release of new material is that this material can be found all over the Internet. Nuke clips are everywhere. I'm sure that Katie and her many, many men are also available all over Youtube.

If the sales are good enough then if they want to release a Nuke DVD, then I think they should include interviews with the actors - or, given all the interest in some type of Nuke reunion, maybe even film a cheap scene between Luke and Noah. I'm sure their fans would not care so much about production quality, if it meant seeing the characters one last time.

There have been a lot of requests for GL couples like Jonathan/Tammy or Otalia. But the majority of the requests have favored the older/oldest material. The fans/buying public will determine what happens. Fans wanted Bauer Barbecues and they got them with this DVD. There was music in many of them and we could't use so it became quite a pain, but I was able to turn it into a Bauer Family DVD and include the 1973 and 1977 episodes, and still put out five more barbecues.

You made a good point about the recent years being on YouTube. I can find every episode for some shows or couples on YouTube and the production companies don't seem to care. Fans have been selling DVDs of their own for years too.

We've released 2009 GL episodes but they were packaged with older shows. It's not totally clear how well something focused on the recent past only will sell versus what's been coming out so far on DVD. I try to mix the episodes in whatever the DVD subject is but with the most requests coming for older, that's how it has leaned so far. But I do think there's a pretty good spread. And when people see gaps in times, sometimes that has a lot to do with limitations we faced at the time (music rights, can't locate tape, etc) more than a preference for a particular time period.

Hopefully we can keep making these and cover everyone's favorites in time.

This is an example of a 1988 episode I was thinking of putting on the DVD but we weren't sure at first if the song Johnny and Chelsea sang was cleared. Ultimately it was but I had already switched out this episode for something else I thought fit better. And chose this one to be the free episode.

Thanks for explaining Roger. And for the record as the main champion on here of releasing more recent stuff, I have zero desire to see an all Peapack release- I hated Peapack and was not a huge Otalia fan although I figured others might like that release. I can see how Youtube could be part of the problem (although I have combed Youtube for early Will/Gwen, Jon/Tammy & Simon/Katie with no luck) with recent stuff but I still prefer DVD to youtube because 1) the quality is 10,000 times better, 2) no chance of it randomly being pulled when I want to rewatch, 3) there's just something a little nicer about popping in a DVD versus watching on my laptop.

Is the plan for Soapclassics now to stick with character/couple releases? Or will there be more of the larger sets similar to the first two? I do like the couple theme and both ATWT releases were great. That said, I did enjoy the 20-ep GL set a lot. Also any idea on the status of streaming?

I don't know, to be honest. I found hours and hours of old footage last week that aren't complete episodes but might be worth putting out on DVD as a compilation. Streaming is still happening, should be very soon.

If these keep selling and they are doing releases in the fall I could see that happening (I can suggest things but don't get to make the call on what the themes are). It's a great idea. Any data you all can collect, specifically episode numbers, would help tremendously.

I notice yall have used some of the lost 70s episodes from GL, an exciting find no doubt, but was curious if anything has been found for ATWT? I'm sure there must be lost episodes for all the soaps, not just GL. Just a matter of when one will fit into a theme. I'd certainly love to see an older episode included if yall ever get around to doing a set for Another World. I know the 60s70s were an incredibly popular and successful time for the show.

Another question, have yall put any thought into including 50s/60s episodes? We know there are episodes available and even if it's only a kinescope, those episodes would've been black and white anyway. I think considering this was a set focused on a Bauer's, it would've been the perfect chance to put some of those Bauer centric episodes from the 50s on the DVD. Plus they're only 15 minutes long, so say two episodes wouldn't take up much space. I know there is a question of whether or not people would WANT to see episodes that old, but if you're already going to the 70s, you may as well. besides, they wouldn't be the main focus, just more variety for people who are interested.

Chris, we would love to use the earliest episodes, we just don't know where those tapes are at the moment. I'm sure, at a minimum, the documented episodes are somewhere in storage. Once we know where they physically are, we can talk about what would be a good way to roll them out (assuming everyone agrees).

I have not found the same type of episodes for ATWT. They may exist, I'm sure they do, but the GL discovery was mostly an accident (looked in the right box). I hope everything can be cataloged better someday.

I'm extremely curious about the hours and hours of footage that aren't full episodes. What time frame are they from?

I would be disappointed if they stopped doing releases and had streaming only. :(

Do you have any radio material or is that not available?

I personally bought some mp3s from the radio days years ago. I had thought about that, not sure what SC would think or if people would be interested. But some of the radio eps are for sale online by fans so at least those are saved.

That's not the plan at all, sorry if it came across that way. But DVD plans are made as we do each one so there's no long-term detailed plan yet, just some big ideas.

The footage includes a lot of old Bert Bauer. I haven't really watched it, just scanned through one tape.

I've seen some radio stuff around, on Youtube, and elsewhere. I wasn't sure if there was any with the material you found.

I know it probably wouldn't have a big market but I'd love to see the various pieces of footage you mentioned being put together on a DVD.

One thing I remember from my quick scan was the Robert Gentry-Charita Bauer scenes that always get flashed back to.
