If the tape of the 1994 Ross and Blake nuptials is still misplaced, the Paley Center has a copy. If it isn't, well I hope we see it on another release eventually. I was wondering why there wasn't any Roger and Holly from the 90s, but that answers that question as they had a big part on that episode. There was barely a year where Roger and Holly had a bit of happiness.

When it comes to GL selling more, one of my theories has to do with the actors. While ATWT had a lot of great performers, many of them didn't really work outside of ATWT or other P&Gs. There could be a curiosity factor that comes into play for fans of other shows that are familiar with actors on GL, but saw them in other parts (like OLTL fans). GL also tends to have a large lapsed group, who left years before the end like the Roger/Holly fans. I wouldn't be surprised if any of them heard of this release and want to see the full April 1, 1980 episode.

They have all the tapes, it just wasn't in our hands the day we had to close on the DVD. As was the case with ATWT, some of the special or important episodes over the years were put in special boxes so when you're going through a sequence of tapes, inevitably the number I was looking for missing a lot of the time. Tapes are in two different places for GL, or they were at the time we were doing this.

Roger and Holly are both on the Alexandra episode where she humiliates Roger in front of everyone. But yes, I was hoping to get that time frame in for them. Someday!

That's true about Roger and Holly being in the 1991 Alexandra episode. What was the B-plot during the 1991 episode?

I hope I get my discs on Wednesday if not earlier as it would be great to celebrate the 75th anniversary by being able to pop a disk in the DVD player sit back and enjoy.

Agree on the 76-77 stuff. I'd even like to see some earlier things like original Holly with her brother Ken..

Aside from the few episodes Soap Classics has, is there a chance that more pre-1979 for ATWT and GL might become available or were they not saving episodes at this time. I know ABC started saving in about 1976 but knowing them, they probably already threw it away.

At the museums and on YouTube there are random ATWT episodes from 1957-1965. There's one on YouTube from 1978. I imagine these tapes are somewhere in this collection. The 20-episode format, or the 5-episode on for ATWT Christmas, seem to be the best way to roll something out quickly. Once we go back we get into 30-minute episodes, or 90-minute in the case of ANOTHER WORLD. So it's possible there could be more or less episodes to fill 20 hours. We have never discussed that though as what we've had so far are one hour episodes.

One of the Cliff House episodes from 1993 could have been included in for a more Roger/Holly centric episode. In particular the episode where they had sex for the first time since the infamous rape. Nancy Curlee told us she wrote that entire episode herself.

If there's another DVD release, that episode should hopefully be included.

It was a major turning point in their dynamic (something later writers didn't understand).

    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.

    • I started a separate thread for the same tribute, but of course it can be discussed wherever. doesn't matter where. Fyi  Jason Cook, Staci Greason, and Eileen Davidson will be there as well as Reckell and some of the current cast Thread for Live tribute to Drake https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68987-days-currentformer-actors-live-video-tribute-for-drake-hogestyn
    • Seeing Nicole and Martin together reminds me of watching Alice with Mickey Horton in the 90s and 00s. The seem more like peers than mother and son.  The younger half of the cast (35ish and below) is playing younger, and the older half (35+) is playing older.
