I watched through the episode where Viki caught Dorian and Joey together. So far I think they did a poor job of showcasing the history of the show. I unfortunately didn't record the 1888 episode so I can't comment on that. Otherwise, I don't think the episodes they picked represented each era well. Karen on the witness stand was actually a great episode, but I'd like to see something else to represent it as well. Maybe early Tina/Viki or Tina/Irene or something focused on Viki or Dorian from than time period. And to skip to 1987 makes absolutely no sense. I think the Buchanan's and Dorian had a lot of good stuff.

Then the episode with Tina over the falls had that great moment, but maybe something from the build up so we could actually enjoy Tina would be more interesting. Or something once she was washed ashore. Or an episode with Maria vs Tina or something. The episode where Megan died was a terrible choice out of context. Also, considering it's being revisited, I'd have enjoyed an episode with the original Fraternity Row story. The 90s choices in general were strange. No Marty rape episode? The big Bo and Nora episode they pick is from 2010 when they had so much great story in the 90s? I actually think they did a very good job picking episodes for the 00s.

Of course I'm grateful for anything, but I don't think this was as focused as the AMC marathons. I felt that really showcased strong single episodes for people (like myself) that didn't follow the show as closely as others. I don't think if I didn't know OLTL I'd be that impressed. They'd have been better off to pick a true theme and split the marathon into two parts, like AMC. I'd have done one day with Viki and Dorian highlights both together and separate. Then do another more general marathon similar to what we ended up getting.

ETA:

I also meant to say, I thought Krista Terseau was adorable as Tina. I really enjoyed her from what I saw. I liked her a lot more than Karen Witter. I think she had more of the Tina spirit. Witter seemed just so dull and I can't see her being as FUN as Andrea Evans. Both were a huge fail on a physical level though. Didn't look like Tina at all.

I suspect we would have had a few withdrawals next year if Israel had won. I don't think many people would relish going to Jerusalem as things stand now. Not to mention it would have been a prime target for terrorist attacks.
    • And they've given us plenty. Sets, outdoor scenes, music licensing, etc. And that was the point of me using DAYS... so. It's obvious the casino set is not intended for long-term use, hence why it's likely it wasn't as evolved as the other community sets, etc.

    • I just had thought of how to save the Perkins family. (Inspired by Rituals) -- What if Marisa Perkins was Augusta Lockridge's sister? Fictionally, they could've both been local girls, one married rich and one married poor. Originally, I was going to suggest that Marisa be Sophia's sister, but then I realized Joe and Kelly would've been first cousins.  Of course, it would've truly inspired Sophia was if Rosa Andrade sister, with Rosa and Santana moving in to help CC raise the kids once Sophia disappeared.  While this could've avoided both gross CC and Santana affairs, the times were not right for a story about intersectional inequity.
    • https://www.instagram.com/p/DJxW5DLJLId/ Another World is my forever favorite soap opera. But it's finale is almost universally hated by its fans. What this is, is an edit where I've deleted everything I didn't like!!!
    • The Perkins family had potential to be a nice alternative to the more dysfunctional Capwells and wackier Lockridges... but I think a few factors did in the family. 1) Recasting of Joe Perkins 2) Bad casting of the Perkins Patriarch, and the one note writing for that character. 3) Lack of antagonistic interaction between the Capwells/Lockridges and Perkins.  (There was no awkwardness between Jade/Ted.. or CC disapproving of his son being friends with that Perkins girl, etc). 4) Wasting of Jade thus wasting the potential of the actress (which was realized on Days of Our Lives).  She had more potential than Laken oddly enough. The only member of the Perkins family that had appeal and a somewhat thought out story arc was Amy.
    • @GymnastGuyThanks for posting the three new Capitol 1985 episodes today. The two labeled March 12, and 13 are misidentified. The March 12 labeled one actually aired November 12 1985 which I figured out because Kenny Rogers' movie Wild Horses aired November 12th and it was announced over the "March 12" Cap credits. In addition, Craig Carlson is listed in the April credits but not the March. Craig left Capitol sometime after July 1985 before he rejoined OLTL in the credits by October 15, 1985; he was replaced on Cap by Radcliffe and Hamner. In these posted episodes Radcliffe/Hamner names appear in the March 85 episodes but not in the April.
