Memo to my FB friends: You have no idea how much time and effort went in to try and bring AMC and OLTL to the Internet. I personally know investors that PP approached. Please take conspiracy theories elsewhere and be grateful we have three more months of OLTL. And lets keep the blame for AMC and OLTL's cancellation where it belongs - on ABC,,

Three months??? December and half of January doesnt equal 3 months....lol

Well since PP still does has these shows licensed for 10 years, the least they could do is wrap up AMC and OLTL with movies. 2 hour specials for each of them couldn't cost that much.

I bet OLTL had alot of cliffhangers since FV and RC were working so closely with PP.

Errol, do you think at some point negotiations with the unions & possible backing can work out?

If this licensing deal with PP actually does exists the least they could do is just sell these soaps to somebody who can afford them.

I would think/hope that in OLTL's case, they could crank out an additional episode to tie up any loose ends that the finale will inevitably have. Maybe wait a few months to air it, like a special "reunion" episode in May. Just a thought that'll never happen.

Lindsay Hartley said she just found out the news and linked to SOD article, so I'm guessing that's how she found out

PP cant sell or lease out. If anything The PP deal will revert back to ABC & Then It woud be in ABC's court again if they wanted to lease or sell to elsewhere

My heart is broken and I feel like a fool for having some hope. I'm not feeling very thankful right now. I think ABC needs to find out what Revenge really is all about. sad.png

I think part of the anger is the timing of when Prospect Park dropped this news. They should have told them at the goodbye party and had to deal with angry, sad, drunk people. Gray Bunny that would be logical, in OLTL's case but agree that won't be happening.

AFTRA's response

http://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/aftra-responds-pp-announcement

AFTRA — the union that represents actors on AMC and OLTL — released the following statement regarding Prospect Park's decision to suspend production of the soaps. "AFTRA was deeply disappointed to read that the executives at Prospect Park have decided to suspend their efforts to produce the long-running and popular daytime serials, 'One Life to Live' and 'All My Children,' via online distribution. Despite initial progress in our negotiations with Prospect Park toward resolving a fair agreement to cover the performers appearing on these programs, we were perplexed and disappointed that for the past month Prospect Park has not responded to our repeated inquiries to resume those discussions. We now conclude from the press reports that Prospect Park faced other challenges unrelated to our negotiations, which prevented continuation of those discussions. We remain hopeful that an opportunity to revive these two popular series will emerge in the future, and remain ready to resume discussions should that opportunity arise."

That's really sick that the actors have to find out about this on Thanksgiving Eve and the way they had to find out about it. Even if they knew all along this wasn't going to work all along, officially finding out is a real dark reality for them.
