Susan Boyle's new album, Someone to Watch Over Me, is set to be released on November 01.

The first single of the album is a cover of Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence. And, while it sounds like a terrible idea, it really is not:

Beautiful, haunting and touching.

I wanna like this... I honestly do, but can't. I actually am impressed--her first album she used her voice so colourlessly-- Here she actually seems to be feeling the lyrics for once (she certainly never did when singing I Dreamed a Dream), but the arrangement, which starts great, never even goes into minor keys! I'm biased, it's one of my fave songs--I miss the dramatic key changes within each measure.

The lead single, from the brilliant ABBA (well, Benny/Bjorn) musical Kristina is sung well by her, but again needs more depth the lyrics. Compare:

to (even though she sucks at English)
