Sniffle. Just looked in the writer's thread after reading J's comment. Kate Hall's a definite loss for us. :(

Noticed the double credit when I was doing the once-over for the episode count. I agree, this mess was Chip Hayes.

Yesterday, JR mentioned that David was holding 2 patients. However, David was only releasing 1 to Griffin.

Oh ok, thanks for the clarification. I'm sure they don't even know who the other will be, it'll depend on who they can get back for the online version.

Although the "interview" portions of the show were stupid, I was highly pleased with the rest of the episode. I'm not at all upset that the Kanes are not getting as happy an ending as the Hubbards, because the former family is so much more dysfunctional than the latter.

That's a very good point haha

Unpopular opinion but I dont care what happens to JR. Happy, miserable, dead, reunited with his family, etc....just not interested and have no opinion on where Id want to see him end up

Damn I wish Kendall could've been the one who found JR with AJ and not Erica. The scenes could've been just as effective. One last JR/Kendall scene would've been great... :(

I loved Zach toasting to all of the families in the room - LOL poor Jackson being the only one the camera cut to when Zach mentioned the "Montgomeries". Pretty sure Leven Rambin was supposed to be in those scenes as Lily. I'm so bummed she couldn't make it to taping after all. Reggie not being there is an even bigger bummer. I would've loved to see the camera cut to Jackson, Lily, and Reggie in that moment...

The fourth wall moments were kinda strange but I liked them. Oddly enough, my fave one was Ryan and Greenlee's - that one made me LOL. The Kane women ones were a bit disappointing because they had no flashbacks to support them. It would've been better if they had flashbacks, and also if Erica was actually with Kendall and Bianca recounting those moments to them, not the audience. But still, I thought it was nice.

That montage was good but I hated the song

I thought the EXACT same thing. "Oh here's Jackson and invisible Lily"

Agreed. They were cute and charming and I think that's the first time I've ever put those words to them.

What's even more irritating about the flashbacks is that Eden was in one of the Erica/Jackson wedding ones from a distance so why not just say f**k it and use her in more?

Good thing about 2pm Friday afternoon... this FLASHBACK obsession will cease to have any relevance to any immediate future discussion of AMC.

I hope we get one final Erica/David scene. I still want to know about Ben and David's relationship and also why Erica and Dixie were both locked up in the same facility. I hope this hasn't been dropped. It's a little annoying.

I think you and I are the only ones who still care. ITA, it is annoying that there's been no explanation for how Dixie wound up in the same place as Erica, which apparently is separate from where the rest of David's patients are.

Oh wow, not the confessional-style delivery... I'm not the flashback whore that some of you are, but I was secretly hoping for SMG flashbacks. Look, we can take it. We get it. Our fandom is larger than the confines of the show's perceived reality. tongue.png

I wasn't feeling them speaking to the camera. And I thought the scripting could have been better.

I would have gone about that episode totally differently. I would have had Erica recap everything to Kit with several segments of flashbacks and then get everybody together for the last scene. Segment of flashbacks dedicated to Kendall/Erica from bad to good, Bianca/Erica, all the men Erica's loved before, drama (the slaps, dress rippings, K-M Thanksgivings), and one to the family love (from M/K/E/B in 1993 to the 2011 edition).

The Lavery's, Slaters, Minks they could have done smaller flashback segments if any flashbacks.

ICAM. Flashbacks could've added so much to the confessions. As it played out, it was okay, but it had the potential to be fantastic, imo.

I've always hated Cambias Inudstries because from Ethan to Zach to Ryan owning it somehow made each guy a bigger piece of crap. AMC just did away with CI for the Myrtle Fargate Foundation. AMC just did aawya with Cambias industrie.

Woohoo! May we never hear the name Cambias again!tongue.png

NIce moment with the Kane women.

Myrtle and Mona flashbacks

I wish we'd seen more Mona and Myrtle, but the Kane women did have a nice moment at the end. Their montage just didn't have the same impact on me as the Hubbards' did.

I thought he just said to release one, not that there's only one?

But didn't Griffin have two files just today or the other day? I think maybe the second person's identity will be a cliffhanger for the online version.

Yeah, that's what I thought too.

We can youtube together a good episode wink.png And, yeah, at least we got that earlier in the year.

Kate Hall was writing today, too. She's like the best they have. I'll blame the outline.

Today was weak and incredibly disappointing and I think that is due in large part to re-writes.

Based on the unusual double Chip Hayes/Kate Hall episode credit today it looks like Kate Hall's original script got heavily re-written by Hayes. I mean parts of episodes are re-written all the time and they never credit the re-writer(s), so this must have involved extensive altering.

A true shame, especially if there are no more "Kane Women" moments or Jack/Erica moments in the finale. Because today did not do the entire arc of either one justice. It was just repetitive yammering about Erica's book (or movie script? I wasn't even paying attention), cringe-worthy moments of breaking the fourth wall that reminded me of that awful episode in the aftermath of Spike's accident/Ian's birth, and a lazy attempt at a montage.

Do we know if was Kate Hall's original script and not the other way around? I can't think of any reason why Agnes and Lorraine would want Chip Hayes to doctor her script.

So glad Babe is just a dream and not alive =D

Me, too!

they were unfortunately in 2006 around the time they had that double wedding with Krystal. They most definetly were in 2008 when Amanda Baker was in the role. That was the only time I actually enjoyed them as did seem to grow up and were over all that drama with cheating and trying to hurt each other. Babe and JR in 2008 was the most healthy and beleivable the two ever were

They were together for most of JY's tenure as JR. 2003-2004, 2005-2007, 2008. They were together on and off for like 5 years.

Given JR's character history, I think its not that much of a leap for him to totally go off the deep end. He's all the bad things Adam was, add his constant addiction problems to the mix and its a recipe for an explosion. I agree that its maybe not neccesary, but it totally falls within the realm of the character as he has been written since Jacob Young assumed the role anyway.

I don't know. I go back and forth on it. On one hand I can totally see why JR would want to go all Columbine on all the people in PV. However at the same time I don't believe JR was ever a serial killer. He was always a character who was either just careless or was so wrapped up in his own anger, hatred and pain that he struck out and tried to kill/harm/injure the person closest to him. That to me doesn't say serial killer. Serial killers are usually people who just want to kill people they don't kill people that mean things to them usually. I can imagine JR killing someone in a passionate moment. Totally buy that. But to purposely try and kill everyone? I don't think he would do that. The people whom he has a grudge against like Krystal, Marissa, Bianca, totally.

But for JR to willingly want to kill his mother, his father figure, his biological dad, his family? Something in that breaks my heart. Which is odd because well he has almost killed Jaime plenty of times before and he premeditated murder in regards to Babe, along with putting a hit out on her. I don't even know. Maybe I just don't want it to end this way. It just seems so purposely cruel to him. Especially when everyone else gets a nice happy ending.

I also think Dixie too should have been used more effectively to try and negate this mess.

Where the heck is Dixie? By the way?

Skin I think one of the reasons peolpe have such a hard time buying early Babe and JR was the complete dysfunction on both ends and myself, while I think JR was obsessed with her and in love with her, I never saw the same from her until the NuBabe came on. I thought Amanda Baker actually did a decent job and I think overall that relationship was a lot more mature and they both seemed to have learned from their mistakes which I guess should have been expected. I never bought Babe in love with JR the way he was with her during AH's tenure and always felt it was more Jamie. With Babe2 I totally bought equal love from both ends. I think thats probably why so many people have a hard time seeing JR and Babe as some great couple. Heck if you pick up the People mag, they aren't featured as one of the couples of the 2000's, it was Rylee, Jamanda, and Zendall so clearly the opinions here are not unusual.

The only reason that JR is still around is because he's Adam's son. I haven't seen a redeeming quality in the character in years. Most characters would have been long gone by now, if they didn't have that Adam Chandler link. I don't like that it's a legacy character who's apt to go postal, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's OOC or something that the show can't recover from.

JaneA, Babe/JR are featured as one of the couples of the 2000s.

And may I saw People went up ABC/Disney/Frons behind for the 2000s picks. I understand Zach/Kendall, and I understand Babe/JR to a point - classic love/hate/attraction. I don't get Jake/Amanda and Ryan/Greenlee over Leo/Greenlee and Ryan/Gillian.
