August 23, 201114 yr Member Today, there was an earthquake that measured 5.8 on the Richter Scale. This earthquake was felt as far south as the Carolinas and as far north as New England. http://www.cnn.com/2....html?hpt=hp_t1 What is amazing is that so many people had such different experiences with this quake: a lot of people felt it, while others felt nothing. I was in northwestern NJ today, and I did not feel a thing. Edited August 23, 201114 yr by Max

August 24, 201114 yr Member I heard about the earthquake after the fact. I live in DC and was in the bathroom of a Chick-fil-A joint and didn't feel a thing. When I got out everyone was in a frenzy in the restaurant and when I looked out the window people were running down the street. I told myself these people are crazy and asked what the hell was going on. When they told me it was an earthquake and asked where you've been, I told them I was in the bathroom and they responded they now knew where to go the next time an earthquake hit to be safe. Needless to say i thought they were jerks. Edited August 24, 201114 yr by Money
August 24, 201114 yr Member LOL, I love the reactions to this. I think it's adorable. But then again, I've lived my entire life with quakes and don't usually react if it's 6 or above. Glad everyone is safe and there weren't any injuries.
August 24, 201114 yr Member I never feel these things. Toronto (an hour east of me) felt it, especially in the office towers. There was one in Quebec last year that numerous people in my city felt it... not me. I was cutting the grass at the time, so maybe didn't pick up on it because of that.

August 24, 201114 yr Member I definitely felt it in my office. The furniture moved. People were flying out of the bulding without stopping. Normally I wouldn't be freaked, but my company is on the 47th floor, and it wierded me out. Edited August 24, 201114 yr by Shawn
