Kind of impossible for it to be January 1963 when the show hadn't even debuted yet.

LOL!!

Thanks @MissPalmer for the share.

I guess that is a couple of weeks in. Mae Clarke is there as Nurse Marge and she was soon dropped and her role of older grumpy nurse was taken by Lucille.

Also there is an ABC Films credit at the end. ABC Films was the syndication arm of ABC and that credit was not used on the daily network episodes, right? So this must have been part of a syndication package for overseas showings?

Thanks @DRW50.  I don't know anything about a pilot.  But the story with Cynthia Allison being Phil's patient (and former college classmate) started in mid-April 1963.  Was that Mae Clarke as the older nurse?

Apparently so, yes.

Thanks. I don't know very much about these early stories, beyond the basics with Steve and Jessie and Phil.

Yeah, that's Mae Clarke in the episode.  It's just hard to recognize her without the grapefruit in her face.  ;)

Amazing! Why isn't there a GIF of that moment? Still, it's really cool to see her on these classic episodes.

And a new rare episode from 1963!!! Any help with this date??

Based on the dialogue, mainly with Jessie asking Steve "how the trial came out", referring to Eddie's drunk driving trial, I have estimated it to be October 24, 1963.

fixed the line about the trial
