Totally unrelated to this thread, but I guess I should bring this up to one the administrators. The "Community Admiinstrator" logo under your avatar icon is large and spills into the text box and covers the first few letters of your post making it hard to read. I dont know if anyone else is having that issue but I just noticed it on my browser

I see it too. I don't know why the logo is so large. I'll pass Errol a note on that to see if he can do something about it.

I "care" about as much as I "care" if Bea Arthur really referred to Betty White as a c u next Tuesday, or if Esther Rolle really wouldn't return to Good Times unless they ditched the Carl character and made J.J. less buffoonish. It's just bts trivia schmivia, it's not that deep.

She and David Boreanez were quite close actually and Joss Whendon loved her and described her work ethic as being very old hollywood. She may take a little while to warm up but she actually has quite a few close friends from AMC and Buffy and she came to the 10 year reunion they had a few years ago. So I wouldn't say she is as cold as mentioned above. She and Lucci could have just not connected.

Well you just admitted that Kendell changed to fit Minshew. Kendell was originally a lot bitchier and a lot more of a force to be reckoned with before. AM's Kendell is a more subdued water down version of that class A bitch character if that. The writers saw the way Alicia played the role and they softened her no doubt because they had Budig's Greenlee to deal with becoming the next Erica.

Agree. SMG is an awesome actress. The only thing I could say about her is that she doesn't do well in comedy. But as a romantic actress and as a dramatic actress she destroys Minshew.

That's true too.

The ability to do both drama and comedy is for me the hallmark of a great performer. Meryl Streep is a prime example. Angelina Jolie, not so much, even though she might have you believe that The Tourister is a comedy.

IA. AM is alot more in your face where as SMG is a bit more subtle with her techniques. Her Kendall wasnt as aggressive as AM or Greenlee for that matter. She was bitchier in a more sly , calculating way

She had to do a lot of comedy on Buffy and I think she did well with that. Ever see her performance as BuffyBot? That was hilarious...lol

SL for any criticism leveled towards her, I don't think there's anybody that comes close to her Erica. SMG was lacking the romantic sex chemistry (but had maybe the perfect combo of the soft/hard mix), RB is too hard (but has the comedic timing), AM is a little too soft (but has the romantic sex appeal). You need a lot of types to make a perfect Erica. That's why there is only one and probably will only ever be one.

SMG played the role of Kendall a lot like RB played the role of Greenlee, except SMG had a layer of the softer side. I know it's forgotten because she became a big star, but Kendall was deeply hated back then by a lot of fans. Story wise, her plotting would always backfire almost immediately. This wasn't a case of Kendall being a smart in-control bitch like David Hayward or even Erica Kane. She was always too volatile and emotionally driven.

Kendall has become a heroine instead of a villainess/anti-heroine but that's due to the curse of the couple.

Erica is one of a kind and no matter how many vixens have come along since, no one has touched what SL and Erica have been.

I do agree with you about SMG but to me its difficult to say how Kendall would be now if she were in the role because we never really saw Kendall evolve or grow significantly with her portrayal. No there is no other SL or Erica and never will be.

I am not against recasts, there are plenty I have embraced but SMG to me had the it factor as Kendall the same as SBr had the it factor as Carly on GH. AM has done a fine job I guess and I think its been more Zach that made me dislike her as much as I have because I have actually enjoyed watching her more since he's left canvas.

Concur. Zach made me hate Kendall. Plus, in the last several years she was overexposed. I stopped enjoying her because she was on 24/7 and it was the same song and dance.

Say what you will about SL or Erica Kane, but soap fans in general are (for the most part) intelligent and discerning folk; and they'd never take just ANY anti-heroine to their hearts the way they have w/ her.

    *picturing David with earrings/heels/hairdo/etc*

But yes, there is something SO rootable and delicious about the wannabe vixen/bitch who fails miserably. When she wins, you are totally on her side no matter what it is. Erica was sort of like that in the beginning, too, with everyone throwing dirt her (except for Mona) as she tried to destroy lives for selfish reasons. She evolved into the perfect adult version of that, though, without being too child-like or too boring. Kendall is just a mess.

    • Glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, Michael seems like fun. I am always interested in more of these niche talk show appearances.
    • Thanks for the tag @DRW50
    • Upon reflection, I think you're right, their chilliness toward each other was more recent. She said women on the show in 1984 were not supportive and she still stays away from them. She seems friendly with Susan Hayes so Deidre is the only woman still around from those days, though I guess Kristian Alfonso and Leann Hunley could also qualify. And it might be someone long gone but who is still present in Suzanne's social circles.
    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
    • Oh, wow... where can I find this interview?
    • I'm really liking Izaiah and Eva so far. And why can't I help but feel that something might happen to make Jessica stay in Fairmont Crest permanently?
    • So Pam didn't create her? I thought she had the whole of 87-88. I'll look around, thanks for the point in the right direction.

date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025 | Jamey Giddens, Danielle Paige | Steven Williford Samantha, accept the fact you were in the wrong and do not deserve your digital devices. Do not like it? Go upstairs. Read a book. Do some knitting. Bradley and Martin's "we get it" to Tyrell was hilarious and absolutely a parent's thing to do. Loving a bit of history of both the Duprees (via Eva) and the Hawthrones (via Izaiah). So cute. Poor June. I am sure she did not purposefully mean to mess up; we have all been there working in customer service. Shake it off and keep on keeping on! Not twice a week for Vernon's cobbler order... Sharon must be using that as payment for their meetings. I appreciate that Ted still cares about the Duprees despite the end of his marriage to Nicole. Not Dana using Peaches' crisis as a way of taking Ted's attention away from a co-worker. Girl, do not be so obvious. Bradley is a man after my own heart with a simply divine chocolate milkshake. That is the way to go. Dana really needs to dial it back. Money will not buy her everything she wants and she will realise it soon enough. And I doubt Shanice is scared off by her idle threats, either. "With all due respect, Ms Thomas, this isn't a shopping mall." Oh, Dr Wilkes just owned Dana's arrogant ass. I love it. Wigs and personas? Okay now, Shanice ate with that read. I like that June assured Bradley that she will not replace him or Martin in the twins' lives. And that blood does not make a parent. Words never rang more true. Jessica reading Samantha was amazing. Dana would want to involve Ted. Her obsession is crossing beyond dangerous boundaries. Not Dana catching Vernon leaving Sharon's room at the country club. That is not good. Not good at all! Notes: Ugh. Not another breakdown from writer2. This week was going so well. Thankfully, Paige is an outstanding scriptwriter (one of this soap's best), and her words today are excellent. The food at Orphey Gene's does look bomb, so I do not blame any of the characters for uptalking it. I would eat there daily if I could. And gain hundreds of pounds, too. David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) continues to make me sick watching him, but he is nice to listen to. I still really like having June as the central person hub at Orphey Gene's. That familiar face you see when you walk in and have scenes. Dana wanting a second opinion means we could have an incoming doctor, right...?
