Members DRW50
He didn't bring in the ratings for OLTL either, in most of his other returns. I think it's the combination of this and possibly tying in with the promo of the porno movie. And those kick-ass ads for The Chew.
Members OLTL_fan
So happy to see Oltl going up!! Figured Gh would drop. At least it held a 1.1 in the demo
Administrator Toups Posted August 4, 2011 Author Administrator Share Posted August 4, 2011 It's the story more than anything. The ratings will go down to the usual 2.3-2.4 million once the story is over.
Members dragonflies
I honestly never imagined in a million years this story would draw viewers in

Members JONNYSBRO
Honestly its the story that is keep viewers tuned in. Roger is a huge return but IMO Trevor has a huge fanbase and one of the most successful re-casts in daytime history. We have waited 8 years for these moments. I heard OLTL is three months ahead right now. So Trevor will air into October and I bet Ron will play this for all its worth and then begin to wrap up the show. Honestly what's awesome OLTL is going out with a bang. How many shows on TV did u love it when they went out on top and with a BANG. Not like they stayed too long at the party or a dying dog. OLTL beat B&B on a Friday. Friday's number is just steller. OLTL is underbudget as well, the neglected one and its been the highest rated on ABC daytime since the cancellation and that was four months ago. GO OLTL. Members OldGHFan
I'm thrilled for OLTL. But I'm sort of sad for GH. I wanted it to go up a bit with Garin Wolf. I hope this doesn't mean we get Bob Guza back.
Members OLTL_fan
lol it was only his first week. His real test will be the storyline starting tomorrow.
Members JaneAusten
I am not a believer that an actor or their fanbase really does squat for a show. RH';s fanbase did nothing for him at ATWT nor have the fanbases for all those big names at Y&R done squat. I think the show has been building momentum for months, this story kicked in and the pace was decent and Todd is a popular character and both actors are well liked in the role. But if it was just an actors fanbase you wouldn't see 400 or 500K more viewers more like a couple of thousand at best. You can't convince me Vanessa Marcil is not as popular or Brenda and her return did nothing for GH.
Members OldGHFan
True. While GH isn't perfect, I see major improvements in balance and respect for history which is very important to me.
Members Gray Bunny
Wow, OLTL came really close to beat B&B in total viewers
Members Carolyn1980
Hmmm. If The Chew bomb quickly, maybe it will be ABC that pays Prospect Park for the rights to air OLTL (at least until Katie's show starts.....they could even move GH to 1 PM EST, leave OLTL at 2 PM EST, and debut The Revolution at 3 PM EST). Members aMLCproduction
Congrats to OLTL. WOW. ANd hiting 3 million again on friday after doing it Monday. I know frons and ABC feel like [!@#$%^&*] right about now. Glad Days went up to. It's been good
Members Llantano Incorporated
SO proud of my show. I'm not as excited as JohnnysBro though. lol. I have very little trust in Carlivati to build this story properly and execute as Bill Bell would have. The show could keep getting these ratings IF the show could plot this properly. Still pretty happy, and happy that AMC is not outright bombing, but showing some solid improvement. To hell with GH. Could care less. Too little, too late.
