There was a scene on GH in 2008 when Sonny and Kate were having dinner and Kate was voicing her concerns about Carly, saying how she doesn't know if she would measure up to Carly in Sonny's heart. That was a great scene - I really miss Megan Ward, she was amazing.

When Al died on One Life to Live..remember when Marcie grieved for him? I think I grieved for him as well! I was in TEARS. What was that, 2003? 2004? Kathy deserved an Emmy for that performance.

The end of the clip where Bill Hayes starts singing to save the day I found so touching, and Kristian Alfonso just owns the scene without even singing a note. It's all like something out of a John Ford movie.

When Maria got her memory back I was in tears. That montage was just so beautiful. Probably the only time I cried when watching a soap opera.

Greenlee in her "Leo loved me perfectly" scene after his memorial service was damn near close to moving me to full blown tears as well and that was in her Emmy reel too.

Laura's Return on GH

Not a huge Luke and Laura fan but this moment I could watch again and again since I am such a sucker for sappy over the top romance. Part of what made this so powerful was the story leading up to it, Luke had allegedly everything after becoming mayor, was the town hero, but in essence he had nothing because she was missing from his life. Too bad they have been so trashed in recent years.

These scenes always upset me and yet I still go back to watching them. I guess because of Ed's eulogy - Richard Van Vleet was a bit hammy and he barely even worked with Hillary, but it's still very moving. And seeing Bert, and Charita Bauer, so frail, it breaks my heart. Hillary's death was the type of writing choice that helped drive away so many GL viewers.

But were their efforts (to trash Luke and Laura's legacy) successful? That's the question. If people still believe L&L belong together, then I'd say no. Chances are, however, viewers are so fed up and disgusted with Luke that they'd rather see Laura and Scotty reunite at this point.
