Members skiman12082004
I don't think Gary Tomlin is the worst choice for AMC and I just have to remain patient. But I love Cameron...he's awesome!

Members JackPeyton
The time jump thing when done right can be amazing. One tree Hill pulled it off very well in season 5. They introduced you to where the characters are now and then slowly revealed what got them there. I loved it.
Members Juliajms
You make a really good point there. Lots can happen in 5 years and that's much better than rewriting history we actually saw. Plus it gives us a chance to have a lot of "new" characters in the form of all the kids. Children that are from core families, but that don't have to be one more lost child of Ted's coming out of the woodwork.
Members EricMontreal22
I know I'm in the stark minority--and many fans think GT's writing completely derailed Ron Carlivati brilliance. But I actually kinda enjoyed his brief stint more than I was enjoying OLTL at the time--although now I can't even remember what happened. Nothing great by any means, but. ANd, if there was any chance (and I don't see it happening at first) of bringing in new viewerzs or long time lapsed ones, having a slowly revealed back story of those 5 years would help get them more into the show, than starting right back around where they left off--it doesn't place them at that much of a disadvantage from long term viewers. Members KMan101
I think in terms of the budget, Tomlin is great. But (and I figure financially, they can't) give him a more visionary co-ep. He can focus on the financial aspects and the other can focus on the feel, look, tone, direction, of the show. Members R Sinclair
That's like telling a chef -- whether you like his food or not -- he can buy the food, the kitchen appliances and the utensils... But someone else will do the actual cooking and eating. You might as well castrate the man.
Members KMan101
It's what DAYS is doing. Co-Eps. One hands budgetary concerns and the other the look and feel of the show. I'm sure they collaborate together, of course, but it's pretty clearly defined.

Members dragonflies
Interview with Vincent, he reveals he's a free agent and makes it sound like he hasn't been approached by PP at all; http://michaelfairmansoaps.com/news/amcs-vincent-irizarry-reveals-he-is-still-free-agent-no-deal-set-yet-with-prospect-park/2011/10/28/ All My Children’s favorite dastardly doc, Dr. David Hayward, played by fan favorite and Daytime Emmy winner, Vincent Irizarry revealed in an interview to publicize the just completed A Tribute to Pine Valley personal appearance tour that things are still up in the air to what his next career move is, and if he will be joining AMC online via Prospect Park in 2012. Irizarry told blogcritics.org, “They haven’t approached all the actors, they’ve approached just a small handful thus far. So at the moment, I have no idea whether I am going to continue on online. Until they come to me and we know what is going on I can’t say. I would love to if it is something that makes sense. It’s a great character. It really is a great character, but if it doesn’t happen… then I move on. At the moment, right now, I am a free agent until they come to me and we’ll see what’s going on. I don’t know what their plans are. It’s too hard for me to speculate what could happen and what is going to happen at this point.”

Members Wizzerkat
I don't mind some jump in time with AMC, but 5 years is TOO far ahead. One year or 6-8 months maybe.. Of course with the speed PP is moving with this, it will actually be 5 years before AMC gets online!

Members marceline
One year wouldn't be enough to provide AMC with a nice clean reboot which, personally, I really think it needs. I think five years would be good but certainly no less than three. IMO, there needs to be enough time elapsed for people to have come and gone and be firmly entrenched in new lives.
