June 19, 201114 yr Author Member I heard that were not, which sucks. Jim Romanovich tweeted this: "There will be no nominees clips shown. Sorry. You have to ask yourself why this show died three years ago. Clips never did actors justice." The show is only 2 hours this year. I remember when it was 3 hours although it still sucked at that. It's on a 7pm central time. It will be over by 9pm central. I'm surprised it didn't get the 8pm central start like always.
June 19, 201114 yr Member I found a source to watch live!!! Sucks there will not be a red carpet show, looking forward to seeing interviews with the stars after it's over. I'm dying to see Alicia!!
June 19, 201114 yr Member http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118038402/ No 'In Memoriam' tributes, either
June 19, 201114 yr Member It has been 2 hrs for several years, I know last year it started at 7 central time as well. They haven't done a Memorial in YEARS.
June 19, 201114 yr Member The last time they did a full memorial segment was I think in 2002, when people like Mary Stuart and Nancy Addison Altman had died. They did a short thing for Anna Lee, but that was more for the Lifetime Achievement Award. She died before awards night, so they acknowledge her death and gave her Emmy to her son. Then they also did a big old thing for Bill Bell in 2006. That article focuses on Frances Reid, Helen Wagner, and James Mitchell, but they all died early in 2010 and would/should have been memorialized in last year's show. But no, we needed to wax poetic about a show that hasn't been relevant in over 20 years. Edited June 19, 201114 yr by All My Shadows
June 19, 201114 yr Member Here is a pdf of the program for those interested: http://day38th.emmyonline.org/day_38th_telecast_program.pdf I have to wonder who those black people on the red carpet are supposed to be. Especially the guy with the Chuck Berry hair. Edited June 19, 201114 yr by marceline
June 19, 201114 yr Member This show is going to be a mess. And putting it on fathers day was a mistake.
June 19, 201114 yr Author Member This show is going to be a mess. And putting it on fathers day was a mistake. I'll have to be switching between the Emmys hot mess and Miss USA.
June 19, 201114 yr Member I've always been more interested in the awards/winners than I am the show itself, so it will be fine, aside from the singing/dancing/talking crabs.
June 19, 201114 yr Member Red Carpet Pics: http://yfrog.com/user/WeLoveSoapsTV/profile Kassie looks terrific as always.
