I hate to say this but did they really have to cut the last 15 minutes of Celeb Apprentice? These news reporters are doing nothing but talking but not really having any information to report. I thought they were going to cut straight into Obama talking but 45 minutes later and no president

Well, when every network breaks this monumental news but you're airing Celeb Apprentice? Come on. LOL

So he's been dead since last week?

Really? Well. It's possible they held off on breaking the news sooner due to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding. Think about it: crowds of thousands...dignitaries from all over the world. It would've been the perfect site for violent and destructive retaliation had we known about this beforehand.

Osama's death and capture brings a sense of justice and closure to the victims of 9/11 and their loved ones. However, don't let tonight's events lull anyone into a new, false sense of security. That, after all, is the beauty of Al Qaeda: even if you kill off the leader, their infrastructure is such that the group, or groups, can continue on w/ their "mission."

Indeed. It's like stepping on the queen in a fire ant hill. The fact that I'm constantly traveling between New York and Washington makes me more nervous than quite frankly I always have been sine 9/11. And honestly the *bombs* don't frighten me as much as the threat of biological warfare. That said... I will go on living.

LOL...its driving me nuts how they are repeating the same lines. All they know is Osama is dead and all Im seeing is people speculating bc they have no information to tell us until Obama talks. What a waste of airtime...lol

The news is saying it's cause they were waiting for the DNA results to come back and I guess they tripled checked those to be sure

Oh no, never. This really changes nothing. It's more of a sentimental victory at this point. And one that I believe that EVERYONE in this country needed.

Whom ever did it deserves to get the highest medal the military gives out.

From an Aussie newspaper.

BREAKING NEWS: THE world's most wanted terrorist, Osama bin Laden, is dead.

The news came shortly after the White House announced an unscheduled press conference for 10:30pm ET by President Barack Obama.

The subject of the president's statement -- which was then delayed -- was not announced, but FOX reported that "multiple sources" have confirmed the terror leader, behind the 9/11 attacks and many other plots, is dead.

He was killed a week ago by a US bomb, FOX reported.

According to senior officials and a member of Congress, bin Laden was killed by following "actionable US intelligence" before a strike by military assets, possibly an unmanned CIA predator drone.

He was killed outside a mansion near Islamabad in Pakistan's capital, according to CNN.

The reported bin Laden's body had been moved to Afghanistan.

US Military bases around the world have been ordered to raise their threat level.

Outside the White House, tourists and visitors were heard chanting USA! USA! before Obama made any official announcement.

The US Government is understood to have delayed the announcement until US officials, and the leaders of allied countries around the world had been informed about the development.

The Muslim fanatic, 54, is blamed for masterminding the 9/11 terrorist attacks that killed more than 3000 people.

On September 11, 2001, al-Qa'ida terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners and intentionally crashed two of them into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others in the building.

A third hit the Pentagon and the fourth crashed in a field after passengers fought back against the hijackers.

The US has relentlessly pursued its search for bin Laden after he evaded capture during the American-led invasion of Afghanistan.

US armed forces have been hunting the Saudi terror kingpin for years, an effort that was redoubled following the 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon which killed 3000 people.

But bin Laden always managed to evade US armed forces and a massive manhunt, and was most often thought to be hiding out in Pakistan and Afghanistan border areas.

Late last month Bin Laden warned al-Qa'ida would unleash a "nuclear hellstorm" if bin Laden was captured, according to classified documents released by WikiLeaks.

The terror group also planned to make a 9/11 style attack on London's Heathrow airport in retaliation by crashing a hijacked airliner into one of the terminals, the files showed.

CBS news Capitol Hill producer Jill Jackson tweeted a short time ago "House Intelligence committee aide confirms that Osama Bin Laden is dead. U.S. has the body."

US President Barack Obama has called a press conference in the White House, which will begin shortly.

There is also a map to show where it happened.

That said... I will go on living.

That's really the only thing you can do, I think. You go on...until you can't.

If this is true, Bin Laden may be dead, but....

Millions of his minions continue to be out there. The wider network of people like this will be much harder to dismantle.

They probably moved on from him a long time ago. This is symbolic, for everyone.

Yeah I wonder if info. like that would EVER be revealed for safety reasons... imagine being that person who made the shot...
