  • I watched OLTL religiously from 1968 to 1983. I find it amusing (well, baffling, really) that complaints about the writing would arise "en masse" about Gordon Russell. From 1968-72, with Agnes Nixon a

This is my thought too. In that 1976 dissertation that was archived online about how a soap is written which covers OLTL at the time (and includes a script) either Sam Hall or Gordon Russell actually

I thought I didn't have my copy of the 1976 dissertation on OLTL and how it is written but I found some of the excerpts (this is badly copied from an old photo copy so all errors are due to copy and p

Can anyone tell me who the character of Bill Kimbrough (played by Justin McDonough) was?

Either Jack Crowder or Peter DeAnda became a playwright. I saw one of his plays.

That picture of Ellen Holly, as beautiful as she looks, does not do her justice. She appeared much prettier on the show.

Agreed. I never knew that Leon Stevens (the RL husband of Lydia Bruce of The Doctors) was on OLTL.

Is this Christine Jones in the Brim ad around 11 minutes in? I can't tell.

That's Jones!

Is there a NYC-based soap actor that WASN'T in a Brim commercial around that time? LOL

Comedian Alan King was rumored to be joining OLTL in the early 80s in a short term role of a crime boss. Does anyone know if he actually appeared or if he backed out?MV5BMTM0MDc4NzQ0MV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTYwMDQ3

47TH Anniversary!! I miss this soap

I do too. No matter what other show I watch, this will always be, at the end of the day, MY soap. And Max & Gabrielle MY couple. Sigh. :(

There was a character played Lois, who was the servant of Victoria. I think that she remained employed in Llanfair after Mitch Lawrence gained control in order to spy on Mitch for Victoria.

What actress played Lois? Whoever she was, she resembled Terry Crawford (Beth on Dark Shadows) to me. I thought that it was Terry Crawford at first, but I have been told that the same actress did not appear on both of these shows.

Olivia Sklar played her for a long time, Anne Wilde also played the role.DSC_0088.jpg

I have never seen this. It was apparently filmed at the Paley Center event for OLTL's 40th anniversary, in 2008. There is some very old footage here.
