  • I watched OLTL religiously from 1968 to 1983. I find it amusing (well, baffling, really) that complaints about the writing would arise "en masse" about Gordon Russell. From 1968-72, with Agnes Nixon a

This is my thought too. In that 1976 dissertation that was archived online about how a soap is written which covers OLTL at the time (and includes a script) either Sam Hall or Gordon Russell actually

I guess Dorian was de-aged after Nancy Pinkerton, because she looks mature here. All of the Dorian actresses were solid including the femme faltale sexpot take played by Claire Malis in the previously posted 1977 episode. Loved her scenes with the lawyer.

@EricMontreal22 It was actually the late Danfling's message board where the creator refused to acknowledge California shows as soaps, not WOST. I still miss WOST. It was such a special place.

The late danfling? Doesn't he still post here?

Slick Jones shared recently that Danfling (Terry) passed away last June.

I often wanted to see someone kick him in the ass in his later appearances. The only value he brought was showing just how much Ford struggled to rock a Speedo.

I love you forever for this quote.

You're right!  I'm just glad I managed to save some of the WOST rarer releases.

Just noting the various mentions of organ music, if it interests you & you aren't already following it, I would recommend Lance Jackson to you. His YT channel is

Does anyone know WEHT Tony's Place, where he, Wanda, etc. work in the '70s? Did it end up being handed over to Wanda as one of her many future establishments? Reinholt is quite good with Marilyn Chris and Lee Patterson (who he allegedly drove nuts). If he hadn't been so self-destructive he could've had a strong safe harbor at the show for many years.

Apparently Nancy was only 35 in that 1975 episode!!! She and Erika Slezac looked very mature for their age.  30 something characters on soaps today act alit more juvenile...thinking back to Natalie on OLTL or Abby on today's Y&R

Those are scenes I'd love to see mostly because they sound like a huge batch of WTF.

I mean people do age differently now (I even read a scientific study that said part of this has to do with the increase in life expectancy.)  There's a reason no one would cast a modern production of Sunset Blvd with a 50 year old actress.  But I admit I still was surprised to look up just how old both actresses were...

Was that after Robin Strasser was cast?  Because I was gonna say with Claire Mallis' Dorian I would have had no doubt she'd sleep with Matt.

I also think the inflated cost of living which keeps young people at home longer infantilizes our perception of young people in their mid-20s and early thirties.

But just like Laura on GH, Viki (and this Dorian) on OLTL were dressed very mature for their ages.

Im so far loving Pinkerton's portrayal. She has a very old Hollywood/primetime quality about her acting. I don't think there was a single week actress to play Dorian. Pinkerton,Malis, Strasser and Princi were all superb.
