AMC and OLTL Canceled!

Baba may bring it up just because she should be pissed off that they are putting a show called "The Chew" on the same network as her show that has been a performer for almost fifteen years. It makes her show look bad too, and is so derivative. "The View" and "The Chew" sounds like it's a channel for feeders.

BRIAN FRONS wanted this from the get go. He did everything he could to ruin AMC and OLTL. This was all planned the second ABC hired him. AMC was the first to suffer under his reighn of terror. There were to many newbies, bad recasting, boring characters, history ignored, ruined legendary characters, bad actors for a long time now. It was just a matter of time before his goal was achieved.

When reading the press release where it stated that "food has beecome the center of Americans' lives..." (paraphrasing) in order to justify why ABC is going with Chew, the wording of that sentence rang slightly odd to me. Maybe it is just me, but I interpreted it as Frons reading a bunch of research that says that Middle Americans will continue gaining weight and figuring "Hey! The audience only cares about stuffing their face! And they love the Food Network! Let's give them a food show!"

I like Mario, too. Variety is the spice of life -- I could quite happily conceive of a world were both Mario's show and soaps co-exist.

Given that Mario will be headlining, I'll bet the insufferable (yet curiously compelling) Gwyneth Paltrow and her new cookbook will be a guest-featuring.

Princess Gwynnie. She'll be a queen in 10 years time if she pulls off this transition to lifestyle guru. But yeah, I find her fascinating and, honestly, I have much more time for her than, say, the Lohans and Anistons of this world. Heck, I much prefer her to Kate Winslet who I also find to be fake-as-hell and not as talented as she thinks she is.

Nope. that was all to raise her profile and work a movie she was headlining. She usually does major promo for her films. She works hard. Also, she thinks she is a legend in her own lifetime in terms of her singing voice -- she has a healthy ego and thinks she is insanely smart and naturally talented when it comes to singing and acting.

Gwyneth is transitioning into being a cooking/lifestyle goddess. GOOP was the launchpad for that. A "younger, more hip" (in her mind) Martha Stewart. It is a touch of genius actually. She has tapped into a huge amount of interest. People may not warm to her, necessarily, but they can aspire to the kind of life she leads. I mean, she has houses in two continents... summers with Valentino on his yacht... is BFF with Stella McCartney, Robert Downey Jr, Anna Wintour... is still a popular player in Hollywood among the A-list (even if she is not quite A-list anymore in terms of movie receipts)... and seems to geniunely know and adore food. Heck, I'd be lying if I said that sort of thing wasn't a draw to me.

I heard about Gwyneth's cookbook, but it is Mario that I enjoy watching, although I find almost everything that he cooks to be uneatable. I would definitely watch Mario and Gwyneth. I think they are very entertaining together.
